That already pushes it into the premium bracket. The variant I tested, also a 14-inch model, goes further with an Intel Core Ultra 7 358H chip, 32GB RAM, and 1TB storage, priced at ₹2,14,990.
At this level, just delivering on design and performance is not enough. Buyers expect a more complete experience, especially when it comes to ecosystem features, something devices like the Apple MacBook Pro have consistently done well.&nbsp;
So the real question is simple: does this machine justify what it asks for?

The first thing that hits you with the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro is just how effortlessly portable it feels. The 14-inch variant I tested measures only 11.6mm in thickness and tips the scales at a little over 1.2kg. For a machine that is also chasing strong performance and solid battery life, that balance is genuinely impressive.&nbsp;
In everyday use, that slim profile translates into real convenience. Sliding it into a backpack never feels like a burden, and on days when I was hopping on the Metro, it barely registered as extra weight.
Samsung has gone with an aluminium build, and the moment you pick it up, the premium feel is obvious. It feels rigid and well put together. That said, I did notice a small ergonomic quirk. The wrist rest tapers into a slightly sharper edge than I would like, and during longer typing sessions, it occasionally presses into my wrists. It is not a major issue, but it is something I kept becoming aware of over time.

In practice, this means smoother animations and scrolling when needed, while quietly conserving battery when things are static.
Samsung has also included VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification, with peak brightness going up to 1000 nits in HDR and around 500 nits in SDR. Combined with the deep blacks AMOLED panels are known for, contrast levels here are excellent, and HDR content looks properly tuned.
The high resolution on a relatively compact 14-inch screen ensures everything appears sharp and detailed. It covers 100 per cent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and exceeds 100 per cent of sRGB, so for workloads involving Photoshop or DaVinci Resolve, it holds up comfortably. Samsung&rsquo;s Vision Booster is also present, adjusting brightness, contrast, and colours based on ambient conditions. It works subtly in the background, but it does make a difference over time.
The 16:10 aspect ratio gives you more vertical space, which is especially useful for documents and spreadsheets. Bezels are slim, though not the thinnest, and the bottom chin is slightly thicker with a discreet Samsung logo.
This is still a glossy panel, but Gorilla Glass with DXC coating helps reduce reflections. It is not completely glare-free, but it remains usable in most lighting conditions.
All things considered, this is a display that feels premium and performs reliably, whether you are working or just watching content.

Powering it is Intel&rsquo;s Panther Lake platform, and my unit came equipped with the Core Ultra X7 358H. It is a 16-core processor with a mix of 8 efficiency cores, 4 performance cores, and 4 low-power efficiency cores, capable of boosting up to 4.8GHz within a 25W to 80W power range. In real-world usage, the way it balances efficiency and performance stands out. It is not chasing outright dominance, but for most workloads, it never feels like it is holding you back.
Here is how it performed in CPU benchmarks like Cinebench and Geekbench.&nbsp;
In Cinebench R23, it scored 1954 in single-core and 13587 in multi-core. Cinebench 2026 returned 480 for single-core and 3488 for multi-core.&nbsp;
Geekbench results were 2779 in single-core and 16546 in multi-core. For graphics, the OpenCL test on Geekbench delivered a score of 55920.
Numbers aside, what matters is how it behaves in actual work. I pushed it through fairly demanding tasks. Photoshop handled large PSD files with multiple layers without slowing down. In Premiere Pro, a complex 1080p timeline with multiple effects played smoothly without any stutter.&nbsp;
Even in PugetBench, it held its ground with a score of 33604 in Premiere Pro and 8462 in Photoshop, which is impressive for a device in this class.
AI performance is another area where this laptop quietly flexes. With a dedicated NPU capable of up to 50 TOPS, a lot of AI-driven tasks can run directly on the device without needing an internet connection.&nbsp;
That said, if your workflow involves running large language models locally, stepping up to something like the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra with a dedicated GPU would make more sense. As for graphics, the integrated Intel Arc GPU performed better than expected.
Out of curiosity, I even tried gaming. This is not built as a gaming machine, but it can hold its own if you tweak settings.&nbsp;
In Black Myth: Wukong, running at 2880 x 1800 on low settings, I saw around 44FPS without frame generation. Dropping to 1080p and enabling frame generation pushed it to a much smoother 70 to 75FPS.
I also tested a few more titles at 1080p on low settings. Cyberpunk 2077 averaged 88FPS, Ghost of Tsushima came in at 103FPS, and Valorant on high settings ran at 210FPS. For a thin-and-light laptop, that is more than enough if you just want to unwind with some casual gaming.
Thermals are handled well, too. Even during longer benchmark runs and gaming sessions, the laptop stayed relatively cool. The upper section of the keyboard did get a bit warm, but nothing uncomfortable. Samsung&rsquo;s updated vapour chamber cooling and improved fan design clearly make a difference.
Fan noise is another pleasant surprise. Whether I was running benchmarks or gaming, the fans stayed extremely quiet. In fact, I had to bring the laptop close to my ear during testing just to confirm that they were spinning.
This is not a laptop you buy primarily for gaming, but that is not the point. For professionals, creators, or anyone constantly on the move, it delivers strong, reliable performance, with the added bonus that it can handle a bit of gaming when you need a break.

That level of integration makes everyday workflows feel smoother.
If you are already on a Galaxy S series phone, or even using a Fold or Flip, these features feel polished and reliable.
On the AI front, alongside the standard Copilot tools, Samsung&rsquo;s Galaxy AI suite feels more practical in real use. Features like photo editing, writing assistance, and translation are here, but AI Search stood out the most. Being able to describe a file and have the system locate it quickly is genuinely useful.
There are also smaller conveniences baked in. You can ask Galaxy AI to adjust settings like display vibrancy, and it handles it without digging through menus.
None of these features is revolutionary on its own, but together, they make the overall experience feel more connected, responsive, and intuitive.

What makes this more impressive is the category it sits in. Thin-and-light laptops with this level of performance usually struggle to go much beyond 4 to 5 hours. Here, thanks to the efficiency improvements brought in by Intel&rsquo;s Panther Lake chips, that limitation feels largely overcome.
Charging is handled through a 65W USB-C adapter, which is compact enough to carry around easily and can double up for charging other devices. Going from zero to full takes roughly between 1 hour 20 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes. From the outset, this feels like a phone built around performance. I am getting a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, a 165Hz display, a massive 9000mAh battery, and OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 right out of the box.
On paper, that is a seriously loaded setup. But in this price range, specs alone do not cut it anymore. What matters is how it all comes together in everyday use.
After using the Nord 6 for a while, I can see where it shines. Battery life is genuinely impressive, gaming feels smooth and consistent, and the software experience is among the cleanest you will find here. That said, there are a few compromises, and those do shape the overall experience.

HDR is supported by the panel and Netflix gets HDR10+. Content does look sharp and dynamic. Brightness is another strong point.&nbsp;
Plus, with a claimed peak of 3600 nits, I found outdoor visibility to be reliable, even under harsh sunlight.
The refresh rate is where things get interesting. The panel can push up to 165Hz, and I could clearly notice the added smoothness in fast-paced games. Compared to a 120Hz display, the difference is easy to spot in those scenarios. For regular scrolling, though, it caps out at 120Hz.
Audio is handled by stereo speakers with a 300 per cent Super Audio mode. They get impressively loud and can easily fill a room, but at higher volumes, I did notice some loss in depth. For casual viewing, though, they get the job done well.

The synthetic numbers line up with that experience as well. The Nord 6 manages an AnTuTu score of around 2.37 million, along with strong Geekbench results. 3DMark does show some variation, particularly when it comes to stability, but that does not really reflect how the phone behaves in real-world scenarios.
Gaming is where this phone really starts to separate itself. In BGMI, the Nord 6 can push up to 165FPS with AI-assisted frame interpolation, and this is not just a number on paper. In fast-paced matches, I could actually feel the smoother motion and improved responsiveness. It genuinely gives you an edge, especially in competitive play.
Even if you turn those AI features off completely, the phone still holds a steady 120FPS without struggling.
The 165Hz display ties into this perfectly. Compared to a standard 120Hz panel, the difference is noticeable in games like BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile. Tracking feels smoother, inputs feel quicker, and overall gameplay feels more responsive.
If gaming is a priority, the Nord 6 is easily one of the stronger options in this segment.

The main camera uses a 50MP Sony Lytia 600 sensor with OIS, and in most scenarios, it delivers reliable results. What stood out more than I expected was zoom performance. Shots at 2x look clean, and even pushing up to 10x, I was able to get usable images, which is not something I usually expect in this segment.
The 8MP ultrawide is decent as well, and more importantly, it maintains good consistency with the main camera. That said, this is not the best camera system you can get at this price. HDR can occasionally look a bit off, and colour processing is not always consistent.
Low-light performance is where the limitations become clearer. It can manage in tricky lighting, but results are not always dependable, and noise creeps in fairly quickly.
Portraits, on the other hand, are handled well. Edge detection is clean, skin tones look natural, and results are consistently usable.&nbsp;
Video performance at 4K 60fps is another positive. Colours look pleasing, stabilisation works well, and footage comes out clean enough to use without much effort.
The 32MP front camera also performs well, delivering sharp images with good skin tone reproduction in decent lighting. Overall, the cameras are capable, but they are not the reason to buy this phone.

From themes to layout tweaks, there is enough flexibility here to make the phone feel personal without getting overwhelming. Compared to most rivals in this segment, I find the overall experience more cohesive and easier to live with.
There are a few visual elements that seem inspired by iOS 26, but OnePlus has done enough to ensure it does not feel like a copy.
On the AI side, OnePlus AI is integrated in a way that actually adds value. Most features feel useful rather than gimmicky, and Plus Mind, in particular, stands out. It feels purposeful and fits naturally into everyday usage.
Overall, OxygenOS 16 feels mature, stable, and easy to recommend.

Portraits and zoom are usable, but the ultrawide and night mode leave some room for improvement.
But that also comes down to positioning. This is not meant to be a camera-first phone. It is built around performance, and on that front, it delivers.

What I really liked is how the back panel behaves under light. There is a layered gradient here with a subtle pattern sitting underneath, and depending on how you tilt it, the finish keeps evolving. It feels dynamic without crossing into flashy territory.
Then there is the UV-reactive element. When I took it out in sunlight, the hidden glow pattern on the back actually showed up, which is a neat touch. It is not something that changes how you use the phone, but it adds a bit of character that most phones in this segment simply do not bother with.
In hand, the material choice surprised me. Even though this is a plastic composite back, it does not feel cheap or hollow. The build feels tight, the finish is clean, and overall, it comes across as a well put-together device. If the purple feels a bit too loud, there is a blue option as well, but personally, I would still pick the purple for how different it looks.

What I appreciate is how clean the front looks. The bezels are slim and even all around, so there is no distracting chin or uneven framing. It feels properly modern the moment you unlock it.
In terms of sharpness, this panel holds its ground. At 449ppi, text looks crisp regardless of size, and images retain their detail nicely. I never ran into moments where things looked soft or slightly blurred, even when I was looking closely.
Colour reproduction is another strong point. With P3 wide colour gamut support, visuals come across balanced and accurate rather than overly saturated. Photos and videos have a sense of depth to them, which I personally prefer over punchy but unrealistic colours.
Vivo mentions support for over a billion colours, which likely means either a true 10-bit panel or an 8-bit plus FRC setup. The brand has not clarified this, but in everyday use, I did not notice any banding or inconsistencies that would raise concerns.
Brightness is where this display really proves itself. With HBM going up to 1900 nits, I had no issues using the phone outdoors, even under harsh sunlight. It stays readable without needing to hunt for shade.
HDR10+ support is present and works well across platforms like YouTube and Netflix. Dolby Vision is not here, but honestly, I did not find myself missing it. HDR10+ covers most content well enough that it never felt like a limitation.
The in-display optical fingerprint sensor has also been reliable for me. It is quick to unlock and consistent over time, which is not always a given in this segment.

The setup itself is fairly straightforward. I get a 200MP main camera with OIS, paired with an 8MP ultrawide. The main sensor is the 1/1.56-inch Samsung HP5, backed by Vivo&rsquo;s own stabilisation system. Up front, there is a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus.
There is no Zeiss branding this time, but in use, I did not feel like the experience was lacking. Vivo&rsquo;s colour tuning still feels familiar, especially on the main camera, which ends up doing most of the heavy lifting.
In daylight, I found the main camera to be consistently reliable. Images come out sharp with plenty of detail, but what stood out to me is how balanced the colours look. Vivo avoids pushing saturation too far, so skies appear natural and highlights stay under control. Dynamic range is strong, and even when I cropped into shots, the detail held up well without looking artificial.
Portraits are another strong area. The processing is clearly software-driven, but edge detection is mostly accurate, and the background blur has a natural falloff. The results look clean and pleasing more often than not.

For video, the phone supports 4K at 30fps, with 60fps limited to 1080p on both front and rear cameras. Stabilisation has been steady in my testing, thanks to OIS and EIS working together.
Overall, this is a dependable camera setup that delivers where it matters.

On paper, the V70 FE looks well-equipped to handle performance. In reality, though, the numbers and the experience do not quite tell the same story.
I am getting the 4nm Dimensity 7360 Turbo here, paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It sounds like a strong combination, but the benchmarks do not fully back that up.
In AnTuTu, the score capped out at around 984,000, just missing the million mark. Geekbench returned 3065 in multi-core and 1030 in single-core. The 3DMark Wild Life Stress Test showed 99% stability, which looks impressive, but neither the peak nor the lowest loop crossed 1000.
That said, once I moved away from benchmarks, the experience felt very different. In everyday use, the phone has been consistently smooth. Apps load quickly, multitasking feels effortless, and general navigation stays fluid without any noticeable slowdowns.
Gaming has also held up well in my testing. I played BGMI at close to 90FPS, and it remained stable even during longer sessions. What stood out to me more was the thermals. The phone stayed cool, with no obvious signs of throttling.
That stability comes down to the cooling setup. Vivo has included a large vapour chamber along with multiple temperature sensors that actively manage heat under load.
So while the benchmark numbers may not look exceptional, my actual experience has been smooth and reliable, which matters far more in daily use.

If you have used a recent Vivo phone, the software here will feel instantly familiar. The V70 FE runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 right out of the box, and in my experience, this continues to be one of the better Android skins around right now.
What I like is how well it scales across devices. Whether it is a budget phone or a flagship, OriginOS 6 tends to feel polished, and on the V70 FE, that consistency holds up. The UI feels responsive, clean, and easy to get used to.

What stood out to me most is how consistent everything feels in daily use. Animations are smooth, app launches are quick, and smaller interactions like switching apps or pulling down notifications feel fluid. I did not run into any stutters or awkward transitions during my time with the phone.
The redesigned control centre also helps here. It looks cleaner, feels less cluttered, and is easier to navigate. Features like phone-to-PC mirroring and cross-device connectivity also proved useful in everyday scenarios.
AI is a big part of the experience too, with a lot of it powered by Google Gemini. I get features like AI Creation, AI Search, and Circle to Search. The AI Photography Suite is where things get more interesting, as it lets you rework images after capturing them, even changing the overall mood or setting quite dramatically.
On the update front, Vivo is promising four OS updates and six years of security patches. That is a strong commitment at this price and adds to the overall sense of long-term reliability.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the company&rsquo;s latest attempt at building a no-compromise flagship, and it becomes clear very quickly that Xiaomi still treats the Ultra series as its playground for serious camera hardware.
On paper, the phone checks most of the boxes you would expect from a top-tier device in 2026. There is a large AMOLED display, Qualcomm&rsquo;s newest Snapdragon silicon, a sizeable battery, and a camera system built around a one-inch sensor.
To really put that camera system through its paces, Xiaomi flew me out to Phu Quoc in Vietnam, where I spent several days shooting photos and videos around the island. From bright coastal sunlight to evening street scenes and long outdoor days, it turned out to be a great setting to see what the cameras could actually do outside controlled test conditions.
Now, with a price tag of ₹1,39,999 for the sole 16GB+512GB variant, it isn&rsquo;t cheap. You&rsquo;re certainly paying a Leica tax here. But, one thing became abundantly clear, the more I used the phone. This phone knows exactly what it wants to prioritise, and that is its camera.
However, that doesn&rsquo;t mean that the rest of it has been put together just for the sake of it. No. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra, for the most part, is uncompromising in every way imaginable.
<h2>Xiaomi 17 Ultra Review: Design and build</h2>
When I first picked up the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, it immediately felt familiar. If you have used any of Xiaomi&rsquo;s previous Ultra phones, the overall silhouette will look recognisable. But once I started using it, a few small refinements became obvious. Xiaomi has moved to completely flat panels on both the front and the back this year. Combined with the composite fibreglass rear panel and the flat aluminium alloy frame, the phone feels cleaner and more modern than older models. In the hand, it comes across as minimal and surprisingly comfortable for a device carrying this much hardware.
Of course, the moment you turn the phone around, the camera module grabs your attention. The camera bump is still huge and still sits high on the back, occupying a big portion of the upper half of the phone. Xiaomi has tried to make it look a bit tidier this year. The layout appears slimmer and a little more organised, largely because the company has dropped one sensor from the module. Normally I am not the biggest fan of camera bumps this large, but considering Xiaomi is using a one-inch sensor here, I can honestly live with it.
That camera hardware does affect the weight balance. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is not a light phone, and you can definitely feel a bit of top heaviness when you first pick it up. That might also explain Xiaomi&rsquo;s decision to use a fibreglass back instead of frosted glass. My review unit is the black variant, and visually it still resembles a frosted glass finish, but the fibreglass construction probably helps keep the overall weight under control.
The camera island itself is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, which is reassuring given how prominent that module is. Despite packing such serious camera hardware, the phone remains impressively slim at just 8.29mm.
In day-to-day use, I never found the weight uncomfortable. It is definitely not a light phone, but Xiaomi has managed the weight distribution well enough that long usage sessions never became tiring.
The black finish on my unit might actually be my favourite Xiaomi Ultra finish so far. The fibreglass surface feels soft to the touch and the back panel is pleasant to hold. It also does a great job resisting fingerprints, which is rare for a dark coloured phone. The only small downside is that it can feel slightly slippery, so using a case is probably a good idea.
Button and port placement is exactly where you would expect on a flagship Android phone. I also really like the rounded volume buttons on the side. They have this very retro vibe to it, and I personally love it. Plus, they feel tactile and are very easy to reach.
For durability, Xiaomi has given the 17 Ultra both IP68 and IP69 ratings, so it should handle dust, water immersion and even strong water jets without trouble. The display is protected by Xiaomi&rsquo;s Shield Glass 3.0, which the company says is way more shatter-resistant than any other hardened glass . During my time using the phone, it held up without any issues.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra gets a massive 6.9-inch AMOLED display that can produce over 68 billion colours. In all likelihood, Xiaomi is using a 12-bit panel here. Resolution comes in at 1200 &times; 2608 pixels, which technically puts it in the 1.5K category rather than a full 2K display.
In practical use though, that distinction barely matters. At roughly 416 PPI, the screen looks extremely sharp. Text appears crisp, images carry plenty of detail, and even when I compared it with some newer flagships that push a full 2K resolution, I genuinely struggled to notice a meaningful difference in day-to-day use.
Being a proper 2026 flagship, the panel comes loaded with all the expected features. You get a 120Hz refresh rate with LTPO technology, high-frequency PWM dimming, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and several T&Uuml;V certifications. Watching content on this screen is genuinely enjoyable. Whether I was watching Netflix, scrolling through YouTube, or reviewing videos I had just shot on the phone, the display consistently looked vibrant. Colours feel lively without appearing oversaturated, and the blacks are deep and inky, which adds to the sense of immersion.
The display also covers the DCI-P3 colour gamut, which helps with colour accuracy. Peak brightness goes up to 3500 nits in HDR, and during my time testing the phone outdoors in bright Vietnamese sunlight, the screen never really struggled. I used it frequently for navigation, reviewing photos and videos, and general browsing, and at no point did I feel like the display needed to be brighter.
Xiaomi has also included several eye-protection certifications. The panel is T&Uuml;V Rheinland low blue light certified, T&Uuml;V Rheinland flicker-free certified, and T&Uuml;V Rheinland circadian friendly certified, which should make longer viewing sessions easier on the eyes.
Under the display, you get an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Xiaomi has positioned it sensibly, making it easy to reach. In my testing, it proved quick and reliable. Even with slightly wet or sandy fingers during outdoor shooting sessions, the scanner unlocked the phone without much trouble.
The audio setup is also quite good. The phone gets stereo speakers that are impressively loud. Because the device itself is fairly large, the speakers manage to produce a bit of depth and bass, which gives the sound more character than most smartphones. I would even go as far as saying these are among the better smartphone speakers available right now.
You also get Dolby Atmos support along with Snapdragon Sound, and for wireless listening the phone supports Hi-Res Audio as well.

Now, coming to the star of the show, the cameras. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra packs a 50MP main camera with a one-inch sensor and OIS, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 200MP periscope telephoto with a continuous optical zoom range from 3.2x to 4.3x.&nbsp;
On paper that already sounds impressive, but in actual use the camera system is easily the highlight of the phone.
Starting with the Leica-powered main camera, the one-inch sensor really makes a difference. In my testing, photos consistently came out sharp and detailed, but without the overly processed look some phones tend to produce.&nbsp;
Colours are vibrant yet still natural, and the auto white balance is very reliable. Xiaomi is also using LOFIC sensor technology, which allows the camera to capture HDR information in a single exposure instead of stitching multiple frames together. The result is faster capture, excellent highlight control, and very clean shadows.
Portrait shots from the main camera look excellent too. Skin tones appear natural, facial details are well preserved, and there is already some optical background separation even without enabling portrait mode.&nbsp;
The Leica-tuned 50MP ultrawide camera performs better than expected as well. Ultrawide photos are noticeably sharper than what this hardware usually produces, with excellent colours and strong dynamic range. In many scenes, the gap between the ultrawide and the main camera is surprisingly small.
Then there is the Leica-tuned 200MP telephoto camera, which uses a periscope setup with a movable lens system. This allows continuous optical zoom from 3.2x (75mm) to 4.3x (100mm), and across that entire range image quality remains excellent. Detail is superb, colours stay consistent with the main camera, and both focal lengths work beautifully for portraits. The natural background blur at 75mm especially makes portrait mode almost unnecessary.
Beyond that range, the phone can push to 8.6x zoom (around 200mm) using in-sensor cropping, and then go beyond, digitally. In good lighting, these shots remain surprisingly usable with solid detail, although darker areas can start to soften slightly.
The selfie camera has also been upgraded this year. Xiaomi now uses a 50MP sensor with autofocus, replacing the older 32MP setup. Selfies look detailed and well balanced, and the autofocus helps keep faces sharp even when framing changes.&nbsp;
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra can record up to 8K at 30fps across its rear cameras. For 4K, the main and telephoto cameras go up to 120fps, that too with Dolby Vision, or log, while the ultrawide tops out at 4K60.&nbsp;
In daylight, videos look very good with strong dynamic range and accurate colours, and all three cameras match each other fairly well. Stabilisation is excellent across all cameras.
Overall, this is easily one of the most versatile and capable camera systems I have used on a smartphone this year.
<h2>Xiaomi 17 Ultra Review: Photography Kit Pro</h2>
Xiaomi also sent me its Photography Kit Pro with the 17 Ultra, and it genuinely changes how the phone feels when you use it for photography. The kit includes a new camera grip, a case, and an interchangeable ring that sits around the camera module. The case already comes with one ring installed, while the second ring lets me attach 67mm filters like ND filters or polarizers.
The camera grip connects to the phone through a USB-C port, and once attached, the phone feels much more like a proper camera. I get a dedicated shutter button, a separate video recording button, and a zoom toggle. Xiaomi has also added a rotary dial next to the shutter this year. Most of the buttons can be remapped. For instance, I set the dial to control shutter speed instead of exposure compensation.
There is also a small thumb rest on the back that improves grip while shooting. A side lock secures the grip to the case so it does not slide out. At the bottom, you get an indicator light, a USB-C charging port, and a loop for a lanyard. Xiaomi includes one in the box, and during my Phu Quoc photo trip, I ended up using it more than expected.
The grip also houses a 2000mAh battery, which can top up the phone in emergencies.

Powering the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage on my unit, the phone has more than enough muscle for anything you throw at it.
In daily use, the phone simply feels effortless. Moving through the interface is quick, animations remain smooth, and jumping between apps happens instantly. During my testing, I often kept a large number of apps open in the background, but the system handled it without slowing down or aggressively closing them. Everything stayed responsive, which is exactly what I expect from a device in this price category.
Gaming performance has also been very solid. I spent quite a bit of time playing BGMI, usually in sessions lasting around 40 to 45 minutes. Even during those longer sessions, the phone maintained stable performance. Frame rates stayed consistent and the device only became mildly warm.
Xiaomi has also clearly worked on the cooling this year. The 17 Ultra uses a 3D dual-channel vapour chamber cooling system, and in practice it does a very good job of managing heat. The phone never became uncomfortably warm, and I didn&rsquo;t notice any obvious throttling or sudden dips in performance.
Overall, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra behaves exactly like a flagship should. It feels fast, stable, and reliable, whether you&rsquo;re just scrolling through apps or pushing the hardware harder with demanding games.

On the software front, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. In daily use, I found the interface to be quite polished, although Xiaomi has clearly taken a bit of visual inspiration from Apple in some areas. The control centre, for instance, has a very clean and layered look that reminded me a little of iOS. It is not a direct copy, but the visual style definitely leans in that direction. In my usage, it proved quite handy for things like timers, music playback, and quick notifications without needing to open the full app.
Since this is a 2026 flagship, AI features are everywhere. Xiaomi groups most of them under what it calls HyperAI. You get tools such as AI writing, AI dynamic wallpapers, speech recognition, AI interpreter, and AI subtitles. The gallery app also gets a number of AI-powered editing tools that can quickly clean up photos or remove unwanted objects.
You also get Google&rsquo;s Gemini built into the system, which adds another layer of AI capabilities.
Xiaomi has added some useful connectivity tools as well. I was able to share photos and videos not just with PCs but also with an iPhone. Once everything was set up, transfers were quick and smooth, although I did find the initial setup slightly convoluted.
In everyday use, I found HyperOS 3 to be quite responsive. It may not feel as polished as OriginOS or OxygenOS yet, but during my testing the system remained smooth and reliable

Even with admin access on my work system, I had to get the IT team involved to adjust permissions before the software would behave properly. On top of that, the app asking for keystroke access immediately raised concerns. I had to explain why that permission was required, which is not a great conversation to have in a corporate environment.
A potential workaround would be setting the mouse up on another system and then using it at work. That is not an option here. The MX Master 4 has no onboard memory, so none of the customisations carry over. You have to use the Logi Options+ app, and have it run in the background.

In real-world usage, I played Genshin Impact for 30 minutes, thrice on the phone; it was not as smooth as I would expect, but it wasn&rsquo;t bad either, and there were no heating issues as such, and no lags either, which is what people usually complain about. The only issue I faced was that the app loading was slightly slower than I expected. However, it is not a gaming phone, so I would give this a pass.&nbsp;
Moving on to the software, the Poco C85 ships with HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. Personally, I am not a HyperOS fan; it looks outdated and slightly cluttered because of the UI. However, you can choose between the app drawer and the classic option and change fonts, icons, etc, to mitigate that to an extent. There is bloatware, but it can be uninstalled. But you also get some useful preinstalled apps like Gemini and Netflix, so I don&rsquo;t mind that. Overall though, the software experience can be definitely be improved.&nbsp; You get 2 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates which is great for the price segment.&nbsp;
<h2>Battery: Easily a one-day powerhouse&nbsp;</h2>
The Poco C85 packs a massive 6000mAh battery with 33W charging support; there is also 10W PD charging support. Talking about the usage, I have used the phone rigorously for 2 days, and the battery lasts more than a day on a single charge easily.&nbsp; Coming to the charging speed, Poco claims that it can charge 51 per cent in 30 minutes, and it&rsquo;s true. I put the phone on charge, and it was pulled up to 53 per cent charged in 30-35 minutes. To get fully charged, it took around 2 hours. All in all, the battery works pretty decently and lasts you for a good enough time on a single charge.&nbsp;
<h2>Cameras: Definitely Instagram-worthy&nbsp;</h2>
There is a 50MP camera on the rear and another camera on the rear. You also get an 8MP selfie camera at the front. The daylight pictures from the main camera are pretty good for the price range. The pictures are bright, detailed, and Instagram-worthy.&nbsp; The skin tones are slightly saturated, and it's the same issue I faced with both portraits and selfies. Talking of portraits: you get natural-looking, detailed portraits; detection is okayish. The separation between foreground and background is decent too. The same goes for selfies as well; the skin tone is saturated, and it looks washed off. Low-light pictures are fine, too, except for the visible noise around the light in the pictures.&nbsp;
For video, you can shoot on 1080p at 30FPS from both front and back camera.&nbsp; But this, being an entry-level budget phone, obviously doesn&rsquo;t match up to flagships or mid-rangers for that matter. For the longest time, every year when Apple launches an iPhone, I am inundated with questions from family and friends, asking if they should get the latest iPhone, and each year, without fail, I have told them to go for the Pro model from the previous year.&nbsp;
Well, Apple changed that script with the iPhone 17.
For the first time in years, the base iPhone, the non-Pro model, truly deserves the flagship title that we associate with iPhones. While Apple finally moving to a 120Hz display plays a major role in this, it's not the only reason why the base iPhone 17 finally feels like a Pro.&nbsp;
The iPhone 17 starts at ₹82,900 for the 256GB variant, with the 512GB model priced at ₹1,02,900. That bump in base storage makes the entry point feel far more reasonable, especially for a phone that is as capable as the iPhone 17
I tested the iPhone 17 for a good 10 days and, having daily driven the iPhone 16 Pro Max for a year, and an iPhone 15 Pro Max the year before that, I can confidently say that for most people looking to buy an iPhone, the iPhone 17 is all they need to consider. Let me explain why.&nbsp;
<h2>The iPhone 17 is familiar but really well built</h2>
At first, the iPhone 17 doesn&rsquo;t scream of a radical redesign like the rest of the iPhone 17 series, but living with it for a bit shows how Apple has fine-tuned the minute details. You still get that familiar glass sandwich design, that pill-shaped vertically stacked camera island, and that space-grade aluminium frame, but they all feel a little different.&nbsp;
The phone itself is solidly built, without being heavy. At 177 grams and with a thickness of 7.8mm, I found the balance to be just right. It&rsquo;s been a while since I&rsquo;ve used a phone that nails the proportions this perfectly, has the right balance of weight and size, and slips in and out of my pocket without me giving it much thought.
Glass is one area where Apple has genuinely pushed things forward. The iPhone 17 debuts Corning&rsquo;s new Ceramic Shield 2 on the front, and Apple claims it&rsquo;s twice as tough as before.&nbsp;
For the back, we get last year&rsquo;s Ceramic Shield, the same stuff that we see protecting the display of the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, and from my experience, they&rsquo;ve proven to be remarkably tough and handle scratches pretty well. I&rsquo;ve carried iPhones with that glass without a screen protector, and while the occasional scratch does show up, it&rsquo;s nowhere near the scuffs and wear I&rsquo;ve seen on other flagship devices.&nbsp;
I also absolutely love the colours this year. Black and White are the safe choices, which are also highly demanded. But the Mist Blue, Sage, and Lavender add that hint of character without going over the top. They aren&rsquo;t as loud as the iPhone 16&rsquo;s Pink, Teal, Ultramarine, but they are still playful and elegant. I am glad to see how Apple has been experimenting with colours this year, especially with the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max.&nbsp;
<h2>The iPhone 17&rsquo;s cameras are pretty solid</h2>
The iPhone 17 keeps things simple on the back with a dual-camera setup, with one 48MP main fusion camera, and the other and a 48MP ultrawide fusion camera. They are stacked vertically inside a neat pill-shaped camera island.&nbsp;
On paper, it may sound like Apple is holding back compared to the Pro models, but after testing it for over a week, I&rsquo;ve been genuinely impressed by what this setup can do.
The main sensor is rock solid. Photos come out sharp, detailed, and with excellent colour accuracy. White balance is consistent, highlights don&rsquo;t blow out, and shadows retain plenty of depth. In regular daylight shots, it&rsquo;s really tough to find fault, and it holds up just as well in low-light. The iPhone 17 delivers the kind of reliable results that make it easy to trust as a daily shooter.
The ultrawide camera is equally dependable. Colours match the main sensor really well, which means your photo set looks consistent across focal lengths. Yes, there are times, when the images may look slightly overprocessed, but they tend to happen only in low-light, that too when you&rsquo;re pixel peeping. For social media and day-to-day use, they&rsquo;re still perfect.
Portraits are where I expected the iPhone 17 to struggle, mainly because it did not have a dedicated telephoto lens, but to my surprise, it held up surprisingly well.&nbsp;
Edge detection is clean, and the natural-looking bokeh makes subjects pop.&nbsp;
Video is classic iPhone; crisp visuals 4K at 60 FPS with excellent stabilisation, with great details and colours.&nbsp;
Now, you don&rsquo;t get some of the extra pro-grade features like 4K 120 FPS or ProRes recording, but honestly, I did not miss them. Even content creators who post most of their stuff on Instagram and YouTube rarely use ProRes or 4K at 120FS.&nbsp;
The iPhone 17 series brings a new trick called dual video recording. It lets you capture footage from the front and rear cameras at the same time, merging them into a single video &mdash; similar to what you&rsquo;d see on a FaceTime or WhatsApp call. I tested it a couple of times and, to be fair, it worked flawlessly. The thing is, I don&rsquo;t really see a use case for it. Android phones have had this for years, and yet I can&rsquo;t recall seeing much content online that actually takes advantage of it. It feels more like a novelty than a must-have feature.
Where the iPhone 17 really shines for me is with the selfie camera. Apple has gone with a 24MP square sensor that outputs 18MP shots, and because of this design, you also get Centre Stage on the front. This feature lets you reframe selfies any way you want, no matter how you&rsquo;re holding the phone. Shooting a wide group selfie in portrait orientation? Easy. Recording a horizontal video while holding the phone vertically? No problem. It might sound trivial, but when you combine the bigger sensor with Centre Stage, the iPhone 17 gives you the best video stabilisation in selfies that&rsquo;s nothing short of outstanding. No other phone I&rsquo;ve used even comes close in this area.
For most people, the iPhone 17&rsquo;s camera system is more than enough. It&rsquo;s reliable, versatile, and delivers consistently great results without feeling compromised.
<h2>The 120Hz ProMotion Display on the iPhone 17 is a pretty big deal</h2>
Apple&rsquo;s given the regular iPhone a 6.3-inch display this year, but the real win is that it finally gets ProMotion. After years of waiting, a non-Pro iPhone can now hit 120Hz, and trust me, the difference is obvious.&nbsp;
Swiping through apps feels fast, animations flow naturally, and even gaming has that slick, smooth finish that makes the phone feel truly premium. For the longest time, the 60Hz screen was the deal-breaker that pushed me to recommend the Pro models. Not anymore.
In day-to-day use, the panel delivers everything I expect from an iPhone. Colours are spot on, and are accurate whether I&rsquo;m scrolling through photos or watching content on Netflix and YouTube. You also get Dolby Vision support, which makes some content look fantastic.
There are some other changes too. The bezels are ridiculously slim, almost as thin as the Pro models, and it gives the phone a sleek, near edge-to-edge feel. That instantly makes the 17 look more modern.&nbsp;
I was particularly impressed with the brightness. The iPhone 17 can crank up to a blistering 3,000 nits of peak brightness. Step outside into direct sunlight, and it&rsquo;s immediately obvious how much clearer and more legible it is compared to older models.&nbsp;
Audio is solid too. The stereo speakers get nice and loud, with enough bass to give music and videos a bit of punch. I didn&rsquo;t find them to be as full-bodied as what you get on the Pro models, but still, you really can&rsquo;t complain.

Apple&rsquo;s also finally bumped the base storage to 256GB too, which feels long overdue. With the size of today&rsquo;s apps, photos, and 4K videos, 128GB just wasn&rsquo;t cutting it anymore.
Using the phone day to day, I never felt like I was waiting on it. Scrolling through feeds, editing photos, and even jumping between a couple of apps all felt seamless.&nbsp;
Benchmarks only confirmed what I was already feeling, and just for fun, I also threw the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro in to the mix, to see just how big of a leap do we get in one and two generations.

Geekbench shows the same story, although the difference the A18 Pro and the A19 wasn&rsquo;t as big. The 17 scored 3600 in single core, and 9078 in multicore, the 16 Pro scored 3443 in single core and 8660 in multicore, and finally, the 15 Pro scored 2938 in single core and 7402 in multicore.
3DMark&rsquo;s Wildlife Extreme Stress Test was an encore of the same tale. The iPhone had a best loop score of 4783 and a stability of 80.6%, the 16 Pro's best loop score was 4450 with a stability of 75%, and the 15 Pro's best loop score was 3462, but a slightly higher stability of 79.5%
But what really stood out to me wasn&rsquo;t just raw speed; it was how well the iPhone 17 handled heat.&nbsp;
I played a few graphics-heavy games back-to-back, and while most phones would start to heat up in 20 minutes, the iPhone 17 stayed cooler than expected and never once throttled performance. That should be a good indicator at just how efficient the new A19 is.
On the software side, we now get iOS 26, which sees a major redesign over the previous OS&rsquo;s. The key highlight is Liquid Glass and compared to all that we saw in the developer&rsquo;s beta, the final product is much more fluid, smooth and just a joy to use.
As for updates, while there is no official word from Apple on this, we usually see that most iPhones get six to seven years of OS updates, which means iPhone 17 is going to stay relevant for a long time.&nbsp;
Where Apple stumbles a bit is AI. We do get some AI features with Apple Intelligence, like Visual Intelligence, Image Playground, Writing Tools, and some basic photo tools like AI eraser, but they are not as polished as we get in some Android solutions. They&rsquo;re fun to play around wit,h though, but, none of them feel essential yet.&nbsp;

The iPhone 17 comes with a 3692mAh battery, the largest Apple has put in a base model, but numbers only tell part of the story. What really matters is how it performs day to day, and here the difference is clear.&nbsp;
In my first few days with the phone, the battery life was all over the place. But after it had time to settle in, learn my habits and get done with all its background processes like indexing, it lasted me through a full day of heavy use. On lighter days, I could even push for half a day, without scrambling for a charger.&nbsp;
A big reason behind this endurance is the A19 chip. It&rsquo;s not just faster, it&rsquo;s much more efficient, stretching every milliamp-hour further.
Charging speeds have finally improved too. The iPhone 17 now supports up to 40W wired charging, a clear bump over the older 25W limit. In real-world use it doesn&rsquo;t always hit peak speeds, but the gains are still obvious; 20 minutes on the charger takes it to about 50 per cent, and a full charge wraps up in roughly an hour and a half.

The iPhone 17 is the one to buy right now, and I say that without hesitation. Apple has finally nailed the formula for its base iPhone. So, when the Vivo T4 Pro showed up on my desk, I thought, &ldquo;Cool, another solid-looking phone, that takes wonderful pictures.&rdquo;&nbsp;
But after two weeks of living with it- constant WhatsApp pings, Netflix marathons, midnight selfies, and even surviving a couple of clumsy drops&mdash;I figured out that there&rsquo;s more to this phone than just aesthetics.&nbsp;
On the spec sheet, the T4 Pro looks solid. You get a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, dual 50MP rear cameras, and a massive 6,500mAh battery that just doesn&rsquo;t quit. As for pricing, the base 8GB + 128GB version comes in at ₹27,999, while the 12GB + 256GB model I tested is ₹29,999.

The T4 Pro has HDR10 support, and it works well on both Netflix and YouTube. Pair that with the stereo speakers, and what you get is a commendable media experience. I ended up watching half a K-drama episode on YouTube, the experience was pretty solid.&nbsp;
Brightness is another flex here. The display can hit 1,500 nits normally and up to a wild 5,000 nits peak. Even under harsh sunlight, you&rsquo;ll have zero issues.&nbsp;
Security-wise, there&rsquo;s an in-display fingerprint scanner that works quickly and reliably.&nbsp;

<h2>Performance &amp; Software: How does the T4 Pro handle heavy tasks and gaming?</h2>
The Vivo T4 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, a basic bump up from the 7 Gen 3 inside last year&rsquo;s T3. My review unit had 12GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, so on paper it&rsquo;s plenty powerful. Benchmarks back that up too, around 1.2 million on AnTuTu and 1,290 / 3,678 on Geekbench.&nbsp;
But let&rsquo;s be real: most people don&rsquo;t care about numbers, and in daily use, this phone feels smooth. Apps launch quickly, switching between them is seamless, and even with a bunch of apps running in the background, I didn&rsquo;t notice any lag.
For gaming, I tested BGMI at the highest settings it allowed for FPS. The T4 Pro held up fine&mdash;no lag, no overheating.&nbsp;
That said, this isn&rsquo;t marketed as a gaming phone. It&rsquo;s great for casual or mid-level gaming, but if you&rsquo;re someone who spends hours grinding heavy titles, you&rsquo;ll probably want something more performance-focused.
On the software side, the T4 Pro ships with Android 15 + Funtouch OS 15. And the good news is that there&rsquo;s very little bloatware. You do get some random games like Candy Crush, but you can uninstall them in seconds. The UI is clean, responsive, and easy to navigate.
Vivo is also promising 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches, which is fine for this price range. It means your phone won&rsquo;t feel outdated anytime soon.
The AI features are where things get interesting. Tools like Smart Call Assistant can transcribe live calls, translate instantly, and even give you summaries after.&nbsp;
AI Captions makes meetings way easier by pulling out key points, and spam protection does a good job of blocking random callers.&nbsp;
Plus, with Google Gemini built in, you basically have an AI sidekick for writing, planning, or brainstorming on the go.&nbsp;

In daylight, photos come out sharp, colourful, and nicely balanced thanks to solid HDR. Indoors, it keeps things natural without over-saturating, which is rare at this price.&nbsp;
Portrait mode is pretty good too, though sometimes edge detection struggles when the background&rsquo;s busy. And yes, Vivo still loves that face-smoothing filter fine if you like the polished look, but it can blur details like hair.
The real star here is the periscope telephoto lens. Up to 3x optical zoom, shots are crisp and colour-accurate both day and night. Beyond that, details start to fade a bit, but colours stay surprisingly natural. Night mode also impresses, keeping noise low and light bleed in check.
Selfie lovers won&rsquo;t be disappointed either; the 32MP front camera captures natural skin tones and sharp detail. Honestly, I&rsquo;d post them straight to Instagram with no edits.
