Smartphone prices have been creeping up steadily, and it's hard to ignore. Things that were once standard in the ₹25,000&ndash;₹30,000 range have gradually shifted to ₹40,000, ₹50,000, or beyond. So when Xiaomi priced the Redmi Turbo 5 at ₹35,999, it naturally caught my attention.
Because the spec sheet alone makes it look like it should cost considerably more. You're getting a glass-and-metal build, a crisp 1.5K AMOLED display, LPDDR5X Ultra RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, a 7540mAh battery, 100W charging, and the Dimensity 8500 Ultra handling the processing. That's a strong lineup at any price point.
Which raises the obvious question: where has Xiaomi cut corners?
After spending time with the device, the answer is surprisingly reassuring. There are a few compromises here and there, but the Turbo 5 feels far more complete than its price would suggest. Redmi positions it as their fastest phone yet, and while the performance holds up, that's not the whole story. This is a well-rounded device that delivers across most of the areas that actually matter.

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Turbo 5 at ₹35,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB RAM model is priced at ₹38,999 under the company's introductory launch offers.

The smartphone is available in Turbo White, Nitro Blue, and Asphalt Black colourways, with sales beginning on June 19 through Amazon, mi.com, and authorised retail outlets.
In my opinion, pricing is one of the Turbo 5's biggest strengths. Given the premium build, large battery, fast charging, and overall hardware package on offer, this feels like a smartphone that could easily have been priced significantly higher.

Before I even switched the Redmi Turbo 5 on, the design and build had already won me over. Xiaomi has done an excellent job with the fit and finish, and this is one of those phones that immediately feels more expensive than its asking price.
The Turbo 5 uses a glass-and-metal construction, with Gorilla Glass 7i protecting the display, reinforced glass at the rear, and an aluminium frame tying everything together. It's a combination that's usually reserved for pricier devices, and it gives the phone a reassuringly solid feel.
What I liked most, however, was the rear finish. The matte glass not only feels great in the hand, but also does a fantastic job of resisting smudges. Even after a few days of constant use, it never turned into the fingerprint magnet that so many glossy phones become.

Where it really earns its keep, though, is during media consumption.
The display packs 12-bit colour depth, which translates to support for over 68 billion colours. It's not something you actively notice, but it does make gradients look smoother and images appear more lifelike overall.
I watched a fair amount of Netflix and YouTube on this, and Dolby Vision content looks genuinely impressive. Colours are rich and well-saturated, contrast holds up well, and HDR scenes carry a sense of depth that actually adds to the experience rather than just checking a box.
Outdoor visibility has been equally strong. Xiaomi quotes a peak brightness of 3500 nits, and while that's not something I can verify independently, I had zero issues using the phone under Delhi's punishing afternoon sun. The display stayed perfectly readable throughout.
On the audio side, the stereo speakers put in some solid work. Volume levels are generous, and they handled everything from YouTube to gaming without complaint during my testing. The sound profile isn't the most refined I've come across, but for day-to-day media use, they're more than adequate.

The ultrawide is a step down, as expected with an 8MP sensor. It gets the job done when you need a broader frame, but detail falls off noticeably compared to the primary camera.
Low-light performance also held up better than I anticipated. The camera manages noise reasonably well, retains a decent level of detail, and tends to render warmer tones that make night shots look more natural than clinical.
Turbo Snap, Xiaomi's burst mode, was something I ended up using more than expected. It's fast enough to be genuinely useful when shooting moving subjects, and it works without much fuss.
Video tops out at 4K 60fps with HDR10+ support. Footage carries the same natural quality as stills, with colours that look good without being overdone.
The 20MP front camera rounds things off well. Sharpness isn't class-leading, but skin tones look natural and the overall quality is solid enough for social media and calls.

Whether I was switching between social apps, streaming content, editing photos, or keeping a heavy browser session going, the phone kept pace without complaint.
Gaming performance holds up just as well. BGMI runs at up to 120fps, and during a sustained half-hour session, frame rates averaged around 116fps with no significant drops or stutters to speak of.
Thermal management is worth calling out too. Even after longer gaming sessions, the phone stayed cool and comfortable, something that isn't always a given at this price point.
Is it the outright fastest option available here? Not quite. But after extended use, it's clear the Turbo 5 delivers well beyond what most users will actually demand of it day to day.

The one area that still needs work is bloatware. There's a fair number of pre-installed apps that most users will want to clear out fairly quickly.It's something Xiaomi has been called out on before, and it remains an issue here.
On the software support front, things look more reassuring. Four Android version updates and six years of security patches is a commitment that gives the Turbo 5 some genuine long-term value.

The ultrawide camera isn't particularly impressive, and the bloatware situation in HyperOS still needs addressing. But these feel like minor footnotes against everything else the Turbo 5 gets right.
At ₹35,999, this is one of the more compelling smartphones available right now. In a market where prices keep climbing and value keeps shrinking, Xiaomi has put together something that feels genuinely aggressive, and more importantly, it feels like a return to what made Redmi worth paying attention to in the first place.

While plenty of brands have chased the ultraportable dream, few have managed to consistently balance design, performance, battery life, and display quality as well as Asus has with its Zenbook lineup.
The Zenbook S14 continues that approach. Despite weighing just 1.2kg, it packs some serious hardware, including Intel's latest Core Ultra processors, a gorgeous 3K OLED display, a sizeable 77Wh battery, and configurations with up to 32GB of RAM. On paper, it ticks almost every box you would expect from a modern premium ultraportable.
The catch, of course, is the price. The range starts at ₹1,34,990 for the Core Ultra 5 model with 16GB RAM, while the Core Ultra 9 variant begins at ₹1,99,990. The top-end version I tested, equipped with 32GB RAM and 1TB storage, comes in at ₹2,49,990.
That raises the obvious question: is it worth the asking price?

The Zenbook S14 makes a strong first impression, but not because of its specs sheet. What immediately caught my attention was the finish on the lid. Asus has spent years refining its Ceraluminum material, and the version used on the 2026 Zenbook S14 feels like the most polished iteration yet.
I first got a look at Ceraluminum on an Asus laptop at IFA Berlin in 2024, and even back then, it felt like something genuinely different. Two years later, the material feels even more mature. The surface has a distinctive texture that not only gives the laptop character but also does a fantastic job keeping fingerprints at bay. It adds a bit of grip too, which is always appreciated on a machine this slim.
Speaking of slim, the Zenbook S14 measures just 1.1cm thick and weighs only 1.2kg. Despite those dimensions, it never feels fragile. The chassis is impressively rigid, with very little flex anywhere on the body. It also meets the US MIL-STD 810H durability standard, which adds some reassurance for anyone carrying it around daily. The CNC-machined Ceraluminum construction plays a big role in making the laptop feel this solid.
Asus has also taken a more understated approach to the overall design. The decorative lines that once gave older Zenbook models a more artistic look have disappeared, replaced by a cleaner and more restrained aesthetic. The subtle Zenbook branding on the lid and the small Asus arrow on the trackpad are about the only visual flourishes you'll find.
One of the more interesting design details sits just above the keyboard. The geometric grille looks like part of the speaker setup, but it actually forms part of the cooling system. Underneath sits a vapour chamber that helps keep temperatures under control without adding unnecessary bulk.

Port selection is surprisingly good for such a thin laptop. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. My only real complaints are the lack of an SD card slot and the fact that both USB-C ports sit on the left side, limiting charging flexibility.

The display covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space, is Pantone Validated, supports 1.07 billion colours, and carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification. The rated 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio is immediately noticeable, especially when watching movies or working with photos.
The viewing experience is equally impressive. Thanks to the slim bezels and 90% screen-to-body ratio, the display feels immersive whether you're streaming shows, watching sports, or simply browsing the web. The anti-glare coating also does a surprisingly good job reducing reflections in bright environments.
Asus has included TUV Rheinland and SGS Eye Care certifications as well, which help make extended work sessions easier on the eyes. Touch support adds another layer of versatility, and stylus compatibility will be useful for note-taking, sketching, or quick annotations.

Naturally, the layout feels a little tighter than on a larger laptop, but that's simply the trade-off that comes with a compact 14-inch machine. Whether I was writing articles, replying to emails, or working through long documents, the keyboard remained consistently comfortable.
The trackpad is where things become a little less straightforward. The large glass surface feels smooth and responsive, and gesture navigation works flawlessly. Asus' Smart Gesture shortcuts are genuinely useful too, allowing quick control over brightness and volume.
However, the sheer size of the touchpad occasionally led to accidental touches, and I found the physical clicks lacked the crisp tactile feedback I'd have preferred.
The speakers are decent for a laptop this size. They're perfectly fine for video calls, YouTube videos, and casual streaming, but if you're watching a film or listening to music, a good pair of headphones will still provide a noticeably better experience.

The Zenbook S14 I tested is powered by Intel's Core Ultra 9 386H, and for the kind of laptop this is, I never found myself wanting more performance. It may not be Intel's absolute top-tier mobile chip, but in everyday use, it feels exceptionally fast.
Everything from launching apps to editing photos in Photoshop happened without delay. I even pushed the machine with some 4K video editing, and it handled the workload comfortably. Just as importantly, thermals remained excellent throughout. Even under sustained load, the chassis stayed surprisingly cool.
Where the Zenbook S14 really shines is in multitasking. My workflow usually involves far too many browser tabs, multiple Office documents, Slack, Outlook, music streaming, Lightroom, and Photoshop running simultaneously. The laptop handled this chaotic workload effortlessly, with no noticeable slowdowns.
Helping matters are 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of storage, which make the machine feel ready for years of demanding productivity work.
The benchmark results back up the real-world experience. The laptop scored 489 and 2951 in Cinebench 2026 single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. Geekbench returned scores of 2855 and 16632. CrossMark delivered an overall score of 2150, while PCMark came in at 8340. Creative workloads were handled particularly well, with PugetBench scores of 8009 in Photoshop, 4303 in Lightroom Classic, and 27274 in DaVinci Resolve 21.
Gaming, however, isn't the Zenbook's primary focus. The integrated Intel graphics are perfectly adequate for everyday tasks and light gaming, but anyone expecting a dedicated gaming machine should look elsewhere. Cloud gaming services can help, but native gaming performance remains limited.
The platform also includes an NPU capable of 49 TOPS, allowing the Zenbook S14 to comfortably support Microsoft's Copilot+ AI features and other on-device AI workloads.

At ₹6,999, these earbuds try to shake up the mid-range market by delivering top-tier capabilities usually found only on flagship models.
With a dual-driver setup, separate dual-DAC hardware tuning, and smart bone-conduction call tech, the specifications look incredible. However, paper specs do not always mean a perfect real-world performance. I used the Master Black version as my main daily pair for a week, testing them during hectic subway commutes, heavy workouts, and focused music sessions to see if they actually live up to the hype.

Colours remain consistent, and images come out bright enough without looking overprocessed. It may not lead in extreme scenarios, but for this segment, it does a solid job.
I also like Vivo&rsquo;s Aura Light. It acts more like a soft fill light rather than a harsh flash, which helps add depth to portraits without flattening the subject.
The 8MP ultrawide is where compromises start to show. In good lighting, it delivers usable detail and keeps colours fairly close to the main sensor. In low light, though, the drop in resolution becomes noticeable, especially in finer textures.
Selfies are pretty solid too, mainly because the front camera gets autofocus, and Vivo&rsquo;s eye-focus system does a good job of keeping subjects sharp.
For video, the phone supports 4K at 30fps, with 60fps limited to 1080p on both front and rear cameras. Stabilisation has been steady in my testing, thanks to OIS and EIS working together.

On paper, the V70 FE looks well-equipped to handle performance. In reality, though, the numbers and the experience do not quite tell the same story.
I am getting the 4nm Dimensity 7360 Turbo here, paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It sounds like a strong combination, but the benchmarks do not fully back that up.
In AnTuTu, the score capped out at around 984,000, just missing the million mark. Geekbench returned 3065 in multi-core and 1030 in single-core. The 3DMark Wild Life Stress Test showed 99% stability, which looks impressive, but neither the peak nor the lowest loop crossed 1000.
That said, once I moved away from benchmarks, the experience felt very different. In everyday use, the phone has been consistently smooth. Apps load quickly, multitasking feels effortless, and general navigation stays fluid without any noticeable slowdowns.
Gaming has also held up well in my testing. I played BGMI at close to 90FPS, and it remained stable even during longer sessions. What stood out to me more was the thermals. The phone stayed cool, with no obvious signs of throttling.
That stability comes down to the cooling setup. Vivo has included a large vapour chamber along with multiple temperature sensors that actively manage heat under load.
So while the benchmark numbers may not look exceptional, my actual experience has been smooth and reliable, which matters far more in daily use.

On paper, the phone checks most of the boxes you would expect from a top-tier device in 2026. There is a large AMOLED display, Qualcomm&rsquo;s newest Snapdragon silicon, a sizeable battery, and a camera system built around a one-inch sensor.
To really put that camera system through its paces, Xiaomi flew me out to Phu Quoc in Vietnam, where I spent several days shooting photos and videos around the island. From bright coastal sunlight to evening street scenes and long outdoor days, it turned out to be a great setting to see what the cameras could actually do outside controlled test conditions.
Now, with a price tag of ₹1,39,999 for the sole 16GB+512GB variant, it isn&rsquo;t cheap. You&rsquo;re certainly paying a Leica tax here. But, one thing became abundantly clear, the more I used the phone. This phone knows exactly what it wants to prioritise, and that is its camera.
However, that doesn&rsquo;t mean that the rest of it has been put together just for the sake of it. No. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra, for the most part, is uncompromising in every way imaginable.
<h2>Xiaomi 17 Ultra Review: Design and build</h2>
When I first picked up the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, it immediately felt familiar. If you have used any of Xiaomi&rsquo;s previous Ultra phones, the overall silhouette will look recognisable. But once I started using it, a few small refinements became obvious. Xiaomi has moved to completely flat panels on both the front and the back this year. Combined with the composite fibreglass rear panel and the flat aluminium alloy frame, the phone feels cleaner and more modern than older models. In the hand, it comes across as minimal and surprisingly comfortable for a device carrying this much hardware.
Of course, the moment you turn the phone around, the camera module grabs your attention. The camera bump is still huge and still sits high on the back, occupying a big portion of the upper half of the phone. Xiaomi has tried to make it look a bit tidier this year. The layout appears slimmer and a little more organised, largely because the company has dropped one sensor from the module. Normally I am not the biggest fan of camera bumps this large, but considering Xiaomi is using a one-inch sensor here, I can honestly live with it.
That camera hardware does affect the weight balance. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is not a light phone, and you can definitely feel a bit of top heaviness when you first pick it up. That might also explain Xiaomi&rsquo;s decision to use a fibreglass back instead of frosted glass. My review unit is the black variant, and visually it still resembles a frosted glass finish, but the fibreglass construction probably helps keep the overall weight under control.
The camera island itself is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, which is reassuring given how prominent that module is. Despite packing such serious camera hardware, the phone remains impressively slim at just 8.29mm.
In day-to-day use, I never found the weight uncomfortable. It is definitely not a light phone, but Xiaomi has managed the weight distribution well enough that long usage sessions never became tiring.
The black finish on my unit might actually be my favourite Xiaomi Ultra finish so far. The fibreglass surface feels soft to the touch and the back panel is pleasant to hold. It also does a great job resisting fingerprints, which is rare for a dark coloured phone. The only small downside is that it can feel slightly slippery, so using a case is probably a good idea.
Button and port placement is exactly where you would expect on a flagship Android phone. I also really like the rounded volume buttons on the side. They have this very retro vibe to it, and I personally love it. Plus, they feel tactile and are very easy to reach.
For durability, Xiaomi has given the 17 Ultra both IP68 and IP69 ratings, so it should handle dust, water immersion and even strong water jets without trouble. The display is protected by Xiaomi&rsquo;s Shield Glass 3.0, which the company says is way more shatter-resistant than any other hardened glass . During my time using the phone, it held up without any issues.

In practical use though, that distinction barely matters. At roughly 416 PPI, the screen looks extremely sharp. Text appears crisp, images carry plenty of detail, and even when I compared it with some newer flagships that push a full 2K resolution, I genuinely struggled to notice a meaningful difference in day-to-day use.
Being a proper 2026 flagship, the panel comes loaded with all the expected features. You get a 120Hz refresh rate with LTPO technology, high-frequency PWM dimming, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and several T&Uuml;V certifications. Watching content on this screen is genuinely enjoyable. Whether I was watching Netflix, scrolling through YouTube, or reviewing videos I had just shot on the phone, the display consistently looked vibrant. The audio setup is also quite good. The phone gets stereo speakers that are impressively loud. Because the device itself is fairly large, the speakers manage to produce a bit of depth and bass, which gives the sound more character than most smartphones. I would even go as far as saying these are among the better smartphone speakers available right now.
You also get Dolby Atmos support along with Snapdragon Sound, and for wireless listening the phone supports Hi-Res Audio as well.

On paper that already sounds impressive, but in actual use the camera system is easily the highlight of the phone.
Starting with the Leica-powered main camera, the one-inch sensor really makes a difference. In my testing, photos consistently came out sharp and detailed, but without the overly processed look some phones tend to produce.&nbsp;
Colours are vibrant yet still natural, and the auto white balance is very reliable. Xiaomi is also using LOFIC sensor technology, which allows the camera to capture HDR information in a single exposure instead of stitching multiple frames together. The result is faster capture, excellent highlight control, and very clean shadows.
Portrait shots from the main camera look excellent too. Skin tones appear natural, facial details are well preserved, and there is already some optical background separation even without enabling portrait mode.&nbsp;
The Leica-tuned 50MP ultrawide camera performs better than expected as well. Ultrawide photos are noticeably sharper than what this hardware usually produces, with excellent colours and strong dynamic range. In many scenes, the gap between the ultrawide and the main camera is surprisingly small.
Then there is the Leica-tuned 200MP telephoto camera, which uses a periscope setup with a movable lens system. This allows continuous optical zoom from 3.2x (75mm) to 4.3x (100mm), and across that entire range image quality remains excellent. Detail is superb, colours stay consistent with the main camera, and both focal lengths work beautifully for portraits. The natural background blur at 75mm especially makes portrait mode almost unnecessary.
Beyond that range, the phone can push to 8.6x zoom (around 200mm) using in-sensor cropping, and then go beyond, digitally. In good lighting, these shots remain surprisingly usable with solid detail, although darker areas can start to soften slightly.
The selfie camera has also been upgraded this year. Xiaomi now uses a 50MP sensor with autofocus, replacing the older 32MP setup. Selfies look detailed and well balanced, and the autofocus helps keep faces sharp even when framing changes.&nbsp;
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra can record up to 8K at 30fps across its rear cameras. For 4K, the main and telephoto cameras go up to 120fps, that too with Dolby Vision, or log, while the ultrawide tops out at 4K60.&nbsp;
In daylight, videos look very good with strong dynamic range and accurate colours, and all three cameras match each other fairly well. Stabilisation is excellent across all cameras.
Overall, this is easily one of the most versatile and capable camera systems I have used on a smartphone this year.
<h2>Xiaomi 17 Ultra Review: Photography Kit Pro</h2>
Xiaomi also sent me its Photography Kit Pro with the 17 Ultra, and it genuinely changes how the phone feels when you use it for photography. The kit includes a new camera grip, a case, and an interchangeable ring that sits around the camera module. The case already comes with one ring installed, while the second ring lets me attach 67mm filters like ND filters or polarizers.
The camera grip connects to the phone through a USB-C port, and once attached, the phone feels much more like a proper camera. I get a dedicated shutter button, a separate video recording button, and a zoom toggle. Xiaomi has also added a rotary dial next to the shutter this year. Most of the buttons can be remapped. For instance, I set the dial to control shutter speed instead of exposure compensation.
There is also a small thumb rest on the back that improves grip while shooting. A side lock secures the grip to the case so it does not slide out. At the bottom, you get an indicator light, a USB-C charging port, and a loop for a lanyard. Xiaomi includes one in the box, and during my Phu Quoc photo trip, I ended up using it more than expected.

During my testing, I often kept a large number of apps open in the background, but the system handled it without slowing down or aggressively closing them. Everything stayed responsive, which is exactly what I expect from a device in this price category.
Gaming performance has also been very solid. I spent quite a bit of time playing BGMI, usually in sessions lasting around 40 to 45 minutes. Even during those longer sessions, the phone maintained stable performance. Frame rates stayed consistent and the device only became mildly warm.
Xiaomi has also clearly worked on the cooling this year. The 17 Ultra uses a 3D dual-channel vapour chamber cooling system, and in practice it does a very good job of managing heat. The phone never became uncomfortably warm, and I didn&rsquo;t notice any obvious throttling or sudden dips in performance.
Overall, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra behaves exactly like a flagship should. It feels fast, stable, and reliable, whether you&rsquo;re just scrolling through apps or pushing the hardware harder with demanding games.

Quickly touching on the battery, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra packs a 6000mAh unit. That is slightly disappointing on paper because the Chinese version of the phone actually gets a larger 6800mAh battery. Even so, in my time using the phone, battery life was never really an issue.
During a long day out in Phu Quoc, I was taking a huge number of photos and videos, using Google Maps for navigation, and running the display at high brightness under the sun. Even with that kind of heavy use, the phone comfortably lasted the entire day and I still ended it with around 40 percent battery remaining.
With more typical usage, I was easily getting about a day and a half, and sometimes close to two days.
For charging, the phone supports 90W wired charging, which means the device can go from a 0 to a hundred in under an hour, perhaps even faster. You also get 50W wireless charging. It is not magnetic like Apple&rsquo;s MagSafe, but it still works reliably. You also get reverse wired charging at 22.5W and reverse wireless charging at 10W.

Surprisingly, though, there is no dedicated folio cover for the Oppo Pad 5, not even from Oppo. However, you can use the folio cover from the OnePlus Pad Go 2, as they are almost identical in dimension.&nbsp;

More than how it looks, ColorOS 16 feels noticeably smoother. Animations flow naturally, transitions feel connected, and nothing feels abrupt or jittery. A lot of that comes down to the Trinity Engine and the new Luminous Rendering Engine doing their thing in the background. Even when I was switching between apps quickly or multitasking heavily, the system stayed fluid and responsive without random slowdowns.
Personalisation is handled well and never feels overdone. The Flux Home Screen lets you resize folders and icons more freely, which is genuinely useful once you get used to it. Aqua Dynamics surfaces live information in a way that feels helpful instead of distracting. Lock screen customisation is deep but tasteful, with support for motion photos, video wallpapers, and subtle depth effects without turning the interface into visual chaos.

It is not perfect. The smooth glass back could use more grip, and users obsessed with benchmark numbers might want more raw power. But if you want a compact phone that feels well balanced, practical, and genuinely easy to live with every day, the Reno 15 Pro Mini gets most things right.
It also holds its own against compact favourites like the OnePlus 13s and Vivo X200 FE, which says a lot for a first attempt.

Poco&rsquo;s C series is known for offering some pretty powerful and specs in the budget category, and the Poco C85 largely sticks to that formula. It has a refreshed design over the previous generations a slightly larger display, a better IP rating, and a noticeably bigger battery. I&rsquo;ve been using the purple variant for the past three days, and while the formula feels familiar, a few surprises along the way genuinely caught me off guard, especially when you consider that the C85 starts at ₹11,999. Here&rsquo;s what I made of the C85.
<h2>Design: A tidier look&nbsp;</h2>
Poco C85 gets a proper grooming this year with a new, refreshed design. The camera bump has been changed from a circular camera module to a square camera module, tucked into the top left corner. The protruding camera is so subtle that the phone won&rsquo;t wobble. Another impressive thing is the dual-toned design on the rear, with the bold Poco branding, which gives it some personality for sure.&nbsp;
It comes in 3 color variants: green, black, and purple, the variant that we tested. Despite its 205g weight, carrying the phone is easy and doesn&rsquo;t feel heavy at all. And, the 7.99mm frame sits comfortably in the hand. Since the frames are flat, they give a good grip and a good in-hand feel as well. The only downside I feel is the back made of plastic, but because it&rsquo;s a budget phone, that&rsquo;s totally acceptable.&nbsp;
You get basics right: a USB Type-C 2.0 charging port, a 3.5mm jack, and a nano speaker grille. And speaking of speakers, you get mono speakers on the C85. This would have been fine, but competitors like Moto G57 Power comes with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, so Poco could step up in this arena. There is a power button towards the right side, along with volume rockers, and a hybrid nano SIM tray along with microSD card support.&nbsp;
<h2>Display: Bigger and better&nbsp;</h2>
The Poco C85 gets a 6.9-inch HD+ IPS LCD, slightly bigger than the 6.8-inch display of the Poco C75. The 120Hz refresh rate is the real star of the show, which makes navigating the UI pretty smooth, mostly switching between 60Hz and 120Hz.&nbsp;
Colour reproduction is decent, sharp enough for everyday viewing, though not calibrated for accuracy. Netflix lacks HDR support, although YouTube streams at 1080p without issue. But, overall, you will enjoy watching content on the phone despite the IPS LCD panel. It is a fairly lit display that features a 660-nit typical and 810 HBM, upgraded from the 450-nit typical and 600-nit HBM on C75.&nbsp;
Moving on to the protection, you get an IP64 rating, which means it&rsquo;s pretty sorted against water droplets and dust. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor is snappy, and the haptics are surprisingly refined for this segment.
<h2>Performance &amp; Software Experience: Scope for improvement&nbsp;</h2>
Under the hood, Poco C85 packs a Mediatek Helio G81 Ultra processor with three RAM options: 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM. For storage, there are 128GB and 256GB.&nbsp; The chipset isn&rsquo;t meant for gaming, and benchmarks echo that. It scored 574,456 on AnTuTu, with Geekbench posting 731 (single-core) and 1,972 (multi-core). These numbers may not be that impressive, but for the price range, they are pretty consistent.&nbsp;
In real-world usage, I played Genshin Impact for 30 minutes, thrice on the phone; it was not as smooth as I would expect, but it wasn&rsquo;t bad either, and there were no heating issues as such, and no lags either, which is what people usually complain about. The only issue I faced was that the app loading was slightly slower than I expected. However, it is not a gaming phone, so I would give this a pass.&nbsp;
Moving on to the software, the Poco C85 ships with HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. Personally, I am not a HyperOS fan; it looks outdated and slightly cluttered because of the UI. However, you can choose between the app drawer and the classic option and change fonts, icons, etc, to mitigate that to an extent. There is bloatware, but it can be uninstalled. But you also get some useful preinstalled apps like Gemini and Netflix, so I don&rsquo;t mind that. Overall though, the software experience can be definitely be improved.&nbsp; You get 2 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates which is great for the price segment.&nbsp;
<h2>Battery: Easily a one-day powerhouse&nbsp;</h2>
The Poco C85 packs a massive 6000mAh battery with 33W charging support; there is also 10W PD charging support. Talking about the usage, I have used the phone rigorously for 2 days, and the battery lasts more than a day on a single charge easily.&nbsp; Coming to the charging speed, Poco claims that it can charge 51 per cent in 30 minutes, and it&rsquo;s true. I put the phone on charge, and it was pulled up to 53 per cent charged in 30-35 minutes. To get fully charged, it took around 2 hours. All in all, the battery works pretty decently and lasts you for a good enough time on a single charge.&nbsp;
<h2>Cameras: Definitely Instagram-worthy&nbsp;</h2>
There is a 50MP camera on the rear and another camera on the rear. You also get an 8MP selfie camera at the front. The daylight pictures from the main camera are pretty good for the price range. The pictures are bright, detailed, and Instagram-worthy.&nbsp; The skin tones are slightly saturated, and it's the same issue I faced with both portraits and selfies. Talking of portraits: you get natural-looking, detailed portraits; detection is okayish. The separation between foreground and background is decent too. The same goes for selfies as well; the skin tone is saturated, and it looks washed off. Low-light pictures are fine, too, except for the visible noise around the light in the pictures.&nbsp;
For video, you can shoot on 1080p at 30FPS from both front and back camera.&nbsp; But this, being an entry-level budget phone, obviously doesn&rsquo;t match up to flagships or mid-rangers for that matter. Having said that, for the price, you&rsquo;re getting a pretty decent set of optics that gets the job done.&nbsp;
<h2>Verdict: A decent budget buy with a few caveats</h2>
The Poco C85 delivers good value under a 15k price tag. You get a bright 120Hz display, solid battery life, IP64 resistance, reliable connectivity, and a design refresh that genuinely makes a difference. It even handles casual photography decently. OS updates and security updates offered are decent too. Where it needs work is performance and software refinement. The chipset is pretty serviceable for its segment, but HyperOS still feels behind the curve. There&rsquo;s also no NFC&mdash;a feature increasingly common in this segment. If you&rsquo;re on a strict budget, the Poco C85 is absolutely worth considering, especially as a meaningful upgrade over the C75. But if you can stretch your spending a bit, the Motorola G57 Power remains a stronger all-rounder for roughly the same price bracket.&nbsp;

From the limited time we spent with the devices, both models handled some pretty demanding titles effortlessly; smooth frame rates, no visible lag, and zero heating issues. Asus seems to have nailed the performance balance here, and that too, in such a small footprint.
<h2>Bigger battery, longer sessions</h2>
Most handheld gaming devices are not exactly known to have great battery lives. The ROG ROG Xbox Ally and the Ally X, though, do a pretty solid job here, at least in terms of capacity.
The regular ROG Xbox Ally comes with a 60Wh battery, which is respectable. But the ROG Xbox Ally X turns things up to 11 and gets an 80Wh battery. This should promise much longer gaming sessions without having to constantly reach for a charger.
