      India and China held the 12th round of the Corps Commander-level talks on Saturday to find a possible resolution for the nearly 15-month-long military standoff in eastern Ladakh. The meeting was held on the Chinese side of Chushul-Moldo Border Personnel Meeting point.

      During the talks that concluded after 9 hours at 7.30 pm on Saturday, the two sides reportedly discussed ways to resolve the ongoing military standoff between India and China in the eastern Ladakh sector.

      The purpose of the high-level military talks was to take forward the disengagement process in some friction areas including the Hot Spring and Gogra post areas.

      The 12th round of talks took place after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar firmly conveyed to his Chinese counterpart that the prolongation of the existing situation in eastern Ladakh was visibly impacting the bilateral ties in a ‘negative manner’.
