Along with full statehood, both groups also want constitutional safeguards on the lines of the 6th schedule; separate parliament seats for Leh and Kargil districts and recruitment for 12,000 posts in Ladakh. 
While there were celebrations in Ladakh in August 2019 when Jammu * Kashmir was bifurcated into 2 union territories, local bodies have been asking for complete statehood since. 
Leaders from the UT had also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier this year to put forward their demands.

The company led by Major Shaitan Singh fought valiantly till 10 pm with only 14 out of 112 men surviving to tell the tale. But the brave Indian men inflicted so many losses on nearly 400 PLA troops that the Chinese took no prisoners of war at Rezang La.
The Indian Army had occupied a number of mountain peaks in Rezang La region in August last year following China's aggressive posturing and failed attempt to intimidate Indian troops.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has built the world&rsquo;s highest motorable road at the&nbsp;Umlingla Pass in Eastern Ladakh at a height of 19,300 feet. The Defence Ministry said with this, India has broken Bolivia&rsquo;s record of a road near volcano Uturuncu at 18,953 ft.
The 52-km long road through Umlingla Pass connects important towns in Chumar sector of Eastern Ladakh. A boon for the local population, the road offers an alternate direct route connecting Chisumle and Demchok from Leh. 
But building a road at this height wasn't an easy task. Harsh weather conditions during winters in Ladakh bring temperatures down to -40 degree celsius and at this altitude, oxygen levels are 50 per cent less than at normal places.

The officials have reportedly said the people occupying these tents are &ldquo;so-called civilians&rdquo;, and streesed that even though India has been asking them to go back, &ldquo;their presence remains&rdquo;.
India and China had agreed that Demchok and Trig Heights were disputed points on the&nbsp;Line of Actual Control&nbsp;(LAC) during meetings of the joint working groups (JWG) back in the 1990s.

A netizen shared a video allegedly from Wakha village in Ladakh and claimed that the 'Laal Singh Chaddha' team has left their trash uncollected.
The video shows the village polluted with waste material and wrote 'Aamir Khan himself talks big about environmental cleanliness at Satyamev Jayate but this is what happens when it comes to himself'.
However, many people supported the team of 'Laal Singh Chaddha' and Aamir Khan and shared that the shoot of the film is not done yet and the film crew will perhaps clean up the area when the shoot is over.

A netizen shared a video allegedly from Wakha village in Ladakh and claimed that the 'Laal Singh Chaddha' team has left their trash uncollected.

However, many people however supported the team of 'Laal Singh Chaddha' and Aamir Khan and said that the shoot of the film is not done yet and the film crew will perhaps clean up the area when their schedule is over.

The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested four students from Ladakh in connection with the Israel embassy blast case, police said on Thursday.
They were arrested from Kargil and taken to Delhi on transit remand.
