'Sooryavanshi' release date out: Akshay Kumar film to hit theatres on Diwali

Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn had a special surprise in store for fans on Dussehra. The three Bollywood superstars shared a special video where they invited audiences to arrive in theatres for their upcoming film, 'Sooryavanshi'.

The much-anticipated action flick, 'Sooryavanshi' is all set to release in cinemas on November 5, right on time for Diwali.

In a social media post, Akshay Kumar wrote, "Interval hua khatam, now it’s showtime! Sooryavanshi releasing this Diwali, 5th November"

In the video, Akshay, Ranveer and Ajay were in an empty cinema hall. The trio says, how much they missed being in theatres and enjoying the magic of cinemas due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Katrina and Rohit Shetty also shared the video of Ranveer, Ajay and Akshay announcing the opening up of cinemas with 'Sooryavanshi'.

In an Instagram post, Katrina Kaif wrote, "18 months have passed since our entire entertainment industry including film & stage has been on a standstill due to the pandemic. It's been a long difficult wait for us but finally patience prevailed and we are back! Now it's not about just our film but it's about our industry as a family and the relationship we share with our beloved audience! So let's come together for the magic of cinema!"

'Sooryavanshi' was originally scheduled to release on March 24, 2020, but was delayed due to the pandemic, which led to shutdown of cinema halls in the country.

'Sooryavanshi' is the fourth film in Rohit Shetty's cop universe, after blockbusters Ajay 'Singham' starring Ajay Devgn, 'Singham Returns', and 'Simmba' starring Ranveer Singh. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh will be seen in cameo appearances in “Sooryavanshi”, which features Katrina Kaif as the female lead.

On Diwali, 'Sooryavanshi' will have a box office clash with Marvel film 'Eternals', which is also slated to hit the screens on November 5.
