Kareena Kapoor defends 'Pregnancy Bible' title in court: ‘No intentions of hurting religious sentiments’

Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan has responded to the legal notice issued by the Madhya Pradesh High Court regarding the title of her book, ‘Pregnancy Bible.’

According to Bollywood Hungama, Kareena's lawyers, Divya Krishna Billaiya and Nikhil Bhatt, recently appeared in court, where they clarified that the actor had no intention of hurting anyone's sentiments.

They denied allegations of offending religious sentiments, emphasizing that the book was not meant to offend any community.

The next hearing on the matter is scheduled for September 10, 2024, in the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

About the legal notice

In May, Kareena Kapoor Khan received a notice from the Madhya Pradesh High Court regarding the title of her book, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s ‘Pregnancy Bible’. The notice was issued after advocate Christopher Anthony filed a petition objecting to the use of the word ‘Bible’ in the title, claiming it was offensive to the Christian community. The advocate accused Kareena of seeking ‘cheap publicity’ by using the term and argued that it was inappropriate to compare her pregnancy with the holy book of Christianity.

Initially, the advocate approached the police to file an FIR against Kareena, but the request was denied. He then took the matter to a lower court, which rejected his plea, stating that he failed to prove how the book's title was offensive. Afterward, Anthony appealed to the Additional Sessions Court, but his petition was dismissed there as well.

Kareena’s work front

On the professional front, Kareena is gearing up for the release of The Buckingham Murders, which also stars Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen, set to release on September 13. Additionally, she will appear in Rohit Shetty's highly anticipated Singham Again, alongside Ajay Devgn, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Shroff. Kareena recently discussed the film with Variety, highlighting the significant roles played by her and Deepika Padukone in the Bollywood masala entertainer.
