Ray Stevenson, who was known for his work in films like &lsquo;RRR&rsquo;, &lsquo;Punisher: War Zone&rsquo;, &lsquo;Thor&rsquo; and others, died in Italy on Sunday. The news of his death has left his friends and colleagues in shock with many condoling his demise.
Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli, who directed <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/rrr-actor-ray-stevenson-passes-away-at-58-1684807371252">Stevenson</a> in the Oscar-winning film &lsquo;RRR&rsquo;, offered his condolences on social media. He shared a photo with the late actor on the set of the magnum opus and wrote that Ray Stevenson had an &lsquo;infectious energy&rsquo;.
He wrote, &lsquo;Shocking&hellip; Just can&rsquo;t believe this news. Ray brought in so much energy and vibrancy with him to the sets. It was infectious. Working with him was pure joy. My prayers are with his family. May his soul rest in peace.&rsquo;
The official Twitter handle of &lsquo;RRR&rsquo; also paid tribute to the late actor.
Ray Steveson played the role of Governor Scott Buxton in the period drama.
Filmmaker James Gunn, who briefly worked with Stevenson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, also expressed shock on Twitter. He wrote, &lsquo;Damn. So sorry to hear about the passing, far too young, of Ray Stevenson. I only knew him a little from shooting post-credits of Thor 2 &amp; a couple interactions at events, but we had some good laughs &amp; he was a joy to work with. His friends &amp; family are in my heart today.&rsquo;
Stevenson&rsquo;s posthumous releases include &lsquo;1242: Gateway to the West&rsquo; and &lsquo;Cassino in Ischia&rsquo;.

Ray Stevenson, who was known for his role in films like 'Punisher: War Zone', 'Thor' movies and Indian Oscar-winning hit 'RRR', has died at the age of 58. His publicist confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter.
According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, he had been hospitalised with a sudden illness on the island of Ischia, while in production on the film &lsquo;Cassino&rsquo;.
Ray Stevenson was born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, in 1964. He attended the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and worked in British television for years. He made his film debut in Paul Greengrass&rsquo;s 1998 film &lsquo;The Theory of Flight.&rsquo;
Ray appeared in Antoine Fuqua&rsquo;s &lsquo;King Arthur&rsquo; as a knight of the round table in 2004. Singer Rahul Sipligunj is currently enjoying success. The singer is back in Hyderabad after his memorable performance of RRR's Naatu Naatu at the 95th Academy Awards with Kaala Bhairava. The song won an Oscar as well, making history as the first song from an Indian movie to do so.
To top it all off, Rahul and Kaala Bhairava's performance was greeted with a standing ovation by the international who's who of the entertainment industry. Rahul expresses his feelings to indianexpress.com, saying, "It was a great feeling. For any artist in the world, getting to perform on the Oscar stage is a dream come true.
Rahul observed the audience members at the Dolby theatre standing up, applauding, and cheering as soon as the dynamic performance was over. Rahul claims that moment gave him goosebumps.
He said, 'I felt shivers! The auditorium was filled with famous people from all over the world, but my mentor MM Keeravani Sir and Rajamouli Sir were there to watch our performance. We had to make sure we gave it everything we had and delighted the RRR team. Since it was essentially a stage adaptation of Naatu Naatu, that was the whole point.'
In the three to four days prior to the Oscars, the singers practiced for at least 30 minutes each day. The musicians also took pictures with Barbadian singer Rihanna, who has won nine Grammy awards. Later, the singers uploaded the photo to their social media profiles.
Rahul remembers the encounter, describing her as a beautiful woman with a beautiful heart: "Our green rooms were next to each other, and as we were returning to ours, she was emerging from hers. Me and Kaala Bhairava were talking about wanting to take a picture as we approached her. She noticed that although these two men wanted to take a photo, they were too shy to request it. She then acknowledged us and stood up.&nbsp;
After the Oscar victory, they met Rihanna, and Rahul later revealed the conversation they had with the Umbrella singer. She told the group, 'Guys, you performed really well, and congratulations on Naatu Naatu winning an Oscar.'
Rahul wants to experiment with playback and independent singing in various languages. The singer claims that he wants to translate his own music into as many languages as he did with Naatu Naatu.

According to AR Rahman, India has been submitting the incorrect movies to the Oscars. He thinks it it is important to put ourselves in the shoes of the 'Westerners'.

Music director AR Rahman believes that India is not sending the right movies to the Oscars. He said that despite being nominated Indian films don't win the award because Indian filmmakers fail see the film from a Westerner's perspective.&nbsp;
&ldquo;I occasionally observe that despite being nominated for an Oscar, our films are unsuccessful. Wrong movies are being nominated for the Oscars from India. And all I can say is DON'T. We must put ourselves in the shoes of others. To understand what is going on, I must put myself in the position of a Westerner. To understand what they are doing, I need to be in their position," he said.&nbsp;
Rahman, an Oscar winner himself, made the remarks in an interview to musician L Subramaniam conducted in January but the video of the conversation has been released now.&nbsp;
AR Rahman &nbsp;was invited to become a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) which hosts the Oscars after his historic win in 2009. The singer-composer is now a regular voter and has been watching the films that qualify and get nominated. &nbsp;

SS Rajamouli said, ‘[Oscar win] is going to put some acceleration in the script’. 

SS Rajamouli agreed that after winning the Oscar for 'Naatu Naatu', they will now speed up work on the sequel.

&lsquo;Naatu Naatu&rsquo; from SS Rajamouli&rsquo;s &lsquo;RRR&rsquo; won the Oscar for Best Original Song. Soon after the big win, the director was asked about the sequel of the film in an interview. Talking to Hollywood trade magazine Variety, Rajamouli admitted that the Oscar win will speed up work on the sequel which is being written by his father, screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad.
Composer Keeravaani added that saying about the progress of the sequel was a &lsquo;tricky question&rsquo;.

This is the idea that is worth pursuing.&rsquo;&rsquo; He also discussed with his dad to expand the idea and to begin the work as soon as possible.
The director further added, &lsquo;At present, he&rsquo;s seriously working on the story; he&rsquo;s getting it done. But once this script is done is when we really look into how to make it, when to make it, and how to bring it onto the screen.&rsquo;&nbsp;

At the Oscars 2023, 'Naatu Naatu', composed by MM Keeravaani and penned by Chandrabose, won the Original Song award and made SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' the first Indian feature film production to bring home the Oscar.
Netflix's Tamil documentary 'The Elephant Whisperers', directed by debutante Kartiki Gonsalves and produced by Guneet Monga, also became the first Indian production to win in the Documentary Short Film category.

Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik celebrated the Oscar wins by creating a 6-foot-high sand sculpture at Odisha&rsquo;s Puri beach showing the golden trophy along with 'RRR&rsquo;s song &lsquo;Naatu Naatu&rsquo; and &lsquo;The Elephant Whisperers&rsquo;.
He has also shared the glimpse on social media, sharing pictures, he wrote, 'Congratulations! Proud moment for Indian Cinema!.
