It's India's biggest health movement named 'Label Padhega India' and focuses on fighting against food scams and to educate people about the nutritional values of what they eat and buy from the market. Actor Archana puran Singh, choreographer Terence Lewis, Sportsperson Abhinav Bindra and many others have joined hands with him in this initiative.

Last year, nutritionist and health coach Revant Himatsingka posted a video on his Twitter and YouTube channels, Food Pharmer, alleging that there was excessive sugar in Mondelez India's Bournvita. The video caused a stir nationwide. Consequently, Mondelez India, the company behind the product, sent him a legal notice. Fearing the repercussions from a top law firm, he removed the video. However, before its removal, millions had already viewed it, alerting multinational companies.
Although it was later removed, the impact led the company to reduce the sugar content in Bournvita. The product introduced to the market in December contains approximately 14% less sugar than before. Nestle's Maggi Ketchup also saw a reduction in sugar content prior to this incident.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has confirmed that two deaths reported from Kozhikode district were caused by Nipah virus.

Two deaths reported from Kerala's Kozhikode district were caused by Nipah virus, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Tuesday.
He said a central team of experts has been sent to Kerala to take stock of the situation and assist the state government in the management of the Nipah virus infection.
Two "unnatural deaths" following fever were reported from Kozhikode on Monday. Relatives of one of the deceased are also admitted to the ICU, the Kerala health department said in a statement issued last night.
Following the deaths, the health department sounded an alert in the district.
It has been confirmed that the two deaths reported from Kozhikode were caused by Nipah virus, Mandaviya told reporters.
A central team of experts has been sent to the state to take stock of the situation. It will also help the state government in the management of the infection, he said.
According to official sources, samples of four more people from Kerala have been sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune for testing for the deadly virus.
Earlier in the day, the Kerala government set up a control room in Kozhikode and advised people to use masks as a precautionary measure.
In a Facebook post, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said his government is viewing the two deaths seriously.
He, however, said there is no need to worry as most of those who were in close contact with the deceased are under treatment.
Kerala Health Minister Veena George chaired a high-level meeting to evaluate the situation in Kozhikode.
She said the entire health machinery in the district is on alert.
Kozhikode had also reported deaths due to Nipah virus in 2018 and 2021.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Nipah virus infection is a zoonotic illness that is transmitted to people from animals. It can also be transmitted through contaminated food or from one person to another.
It causes a range of illnesses, from asymptomatic (subclinical) infection to acute respiratory illness and fatal encephalitis, among infected people.&nbsp;

US reports three deaths from rare, flesh-eating bacteria

At least 3 people in the US have died after being infected by a rare and flesh-eating bacteria.

At least three deaths in the US were tied to a rare flesh-eating bacteria. The deaths were reported in New York and Connecticut.&nbsp;
The bacteria, which is called Vibrio vulnificus, is usually found in warm and mildly-saline water. It usually enters the human body through contaminated seafood.
Connecticut&rsquo;s Department of Health said that all three people who died were between the ages of 60 and 80. Officials also issued safety guidelines.
The department&rsquo;s head advised people to &ldquo;consider the potential risk of consuming raw oysters and exposure to salt or brackish water and take appropriate precautions.&rdquo;
&ldquo;While rare, the vibrio bacteria has unfortunately made it to this region and can be extraordinarily dangerous,&rdquo; New York Governor Kathy Hochul said in a statement on Wednesday.
The deadly bacteria can cause septicemia, severe wound infections, and gastroenteritis. Its symptoms include chills, fever, diarrhoea, stomach pain and possible vomiting.

The death toll climbed to 5,30,813 with five deaths. One death each has been reported in Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat and Maharashtra while one fatality was reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated.
Modi chaired the meeting to assess the COVID-19 and influenza situation in the country in terms of preparedness of health infrastructure and logistics, status of the vaccination campaign, emergence of new COVID-19 variants and influenza types and their public health implications for the country, a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.
