Popular content creator Revant Himatsingka, also known as food pharmer has started an initiative with celebrities and other creators to make people aware of their health by checking the nutrition label at the back of all packaged products.

It's India's biggest health movement named 'Label Padhega India' and focuses on fighting against food scams and to educate people about the nutritional values of what they eat and buy from the market. Actor Archana puran Singh, choreographer Terence Lewis, Sportsperson Abhinav Bindra and many others have joined hands with him in this initiative.

Food Pharmer launches 'Label Padhega India'

Last year, nutritionist and health coach Revant Himatsingka posted a video on his Twitter and YouTube channels, Food Pharmer, alleging that there was excessive sugar in Mondelez India's Bournvita. The video caused a stir nationwide. Consequently, Mondelez India, the company behind the product, sent him a legal notice. Fearing the repercussions from a top law firm, he removed the video. However, before its removal, millions had already viewed it, alerting multinational companies.

Although it was later removed, the impact led the company to reduce the sugar content in Bournvita. The product introduced to the market in December contains approximately 14% less sugar than before. Nestle's Maggi Ketchup also saw a reduction in sugar content prior to this incident.

The content creator shared the video on his social media with the caption-

"Label Padhega India is a health movement to fight against all the food scandals happening in India! Every week we hear of a new food issue such as the Baby formula, Children’s health drink, Indian chips having Palm oil and the Masala-cancer issue.

If majority of us started reading labels, companies will be forced to stop false marketing and start giving us better quality food!

Let us all unite and transform India from the Diabetes Capital of the world to the Health Capital of the World"!
