Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 get major upgrades—but the new Flip7 FE steals the spotlight

Fold7 and Flip7 are back, looking sleeker than ever—but the big surprise? Samsung’s new Flip7 FE, a more affordable foldable that still flips hard. The whole lineup’s stacked with better screens, smarter AI, and serious design glow-ups.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 get major upgrades—but the new Flip7 FE steals the spotlight

Samsung’s foldable fam just got a major refresh. The Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and the all-new Z Flip7 FE are now official—and they’re bringing sharper displays, smarter AI features, more powerful processors, and sleeker, tougher designs. Whether you want a multitasking beast with an 8-inch display, the slimmest Flip yet, or a more budget-friendly entry into the foldable world, Samsung’s got you covered in 2025.

Galaxy Z Fold7: Bigger screen, smarter AI, and a 200MP camera

Let’s start with the Fold7. This is Samsung’s lightest and thinnest Fold yet at 215g and just 8.9mm thick when closed—but it still opens up to a massive 8.0-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display (120Hz, 2184x1968). The cover screen is no slouch either: a 6.5-inch AMOLED panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 2520x1080 resolution, perfect for typing, browsing, or snapping pics one-handed.

Inside, it’s powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. It also gets the latest One UI 8 and Android 16 combo, bringing multimodal AI to the fold—literally. That means smoother multitasking, on-screen Circle to Search, live language translation, and smart content suggestions powered by Galaxy AI.

On the back, there’s a triple camera setup headlined by a beastly 200MP wide-angle sensor, along with a 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 30x Space Zoom. Up front, you get a 10MP selfie camera on the cover and another 10MP lens inside for video calls. Video quality gets a boost too, thanks to upgraded Night Video features and 10-bit HDR.

Battery? A solid 4,400mAh dual-cell setup with 25W fast charging, fast wireless charging, and Wireless PowerShare. And yes, it’s built to last: you get Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the cover, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back, an Armor Aluminum frame, and a redesigned hinge with a titanium-reinforced main screen.

Galaxy Z Flip7: Samsung’s slimmest flip ever, now with a powerful AI brain

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is all about packing serious power into the slimmest Flip design Samsung’s ever made. It weighs just 188g and folds down to only 13.7mm thick, making it ridiculously easy to slip into your pocket or bag. But don’t let the size fool you—this thing’s stacked.

The outer 4.1-inch FlexWindow is now edge-to-edge, Super AMOLED, and hits 2,600 nits—Samsung’s brightest cover screen yet. Flip it open, and you get a 6.9-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display (120Hz) that’s smooth, sharp, and perfect for everything from Instagram to editing photos.

Under the hood, it’s powered by the new Exynos 2500 chip, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB storage. You also get Samsung DeX support for the first time on a Flip, turning your pocket phone into a mini workstation.

The rear camera setup includes a 50MP wide-angle and 12MP ultra-wide sensor, while the 10MP selfie cam sits up front. With FlexCam, real-time filters, and zoom controls directly on the cover screen, it’s basically a selfie studio in your hand.

Topping it all off is the largest battery ever in a Flip—4,300mAh—with fast wired and wireless charging, and Samsung’s rugged Armor Aluminum build wrapped in Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Galaxy Flip7 FE: A more affordable foldable that still flips

Joining the foldable family is the new Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, aimed at making foldables more accessible. It has a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display and a 3.4-inch outer AMOLED screen for quick glances and updates. The camera setup is the same as the Flip7—50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide on the back, 10MP on the front.

It’s powered by the Exynos 2400 chip, comes with 8GB RAM, and offers either 128GB or 256GB storage. The 4,000mAh battery supports fast charging and wireless power features too. It's a bit chunkier than the Flip7, but still compact and clean with black and white colour options.
