Realme P4 Pro first look: Gunning for the midrange throne

The Realme P4 Pro offers 144Hz gaming at 1.5K, thanks to an AI display chip, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 performance, and a standout Birch Wood finish in the midrange segment.

Realme P4 Pro first look: Gunning for the midrange throne

The midrange smartphone space in India isn’t short on options, but Realme’s P4 Pro is coming in hot with a mix that’s hard to ignore — flagship-grade gaming performance, AI-driven visual upgrades, and a design that refuses to blend in.

We got an early hands-on before its official launch, and it’s already shaping up to be one of the most exciting phones of the year.

Realme P4 Pro first look: Solid performance, especially in gaming

Underneath, the Realme P4 Pro runs the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. This isn’t just about numbers on paper — in our early use, it handled multitasking, app launches, and heavy workloads effortlessly.

But what makes the P4 Pro really special is the HyperVision AI Chip, a dedicated visual co-processor designed to enhance graphics and smoothness whether you’re gaming or streaming.

You’d usually expect this sort of hardware in a specialist gaming phone, yet here it is, in a package that is likely to be priced between ₹25,000 and ₹28,000 — potentially even less with bank offers.

While BGMI officially caps at 90fps, the P4 Pro’s AI Hyper Motion pushes it to 144fps without dropping resolution.

Realme also claims that the P4 Pro is the first phone to hit 1.5K resolution and 144fps in BGMI at the same time, and early impressions suggest it’s not just marketing talk.

The tech also works across 100+ other games, including Genshin Impact, making gameplay smoother and sharper without the usual visual compromises.

Realme P4 Pro first look: Display that steals the show

That AI horsepower isn’t limited to games. Streaming on YouTube, Netflix, JioCinema, and Hotstar gets a boost, with SDR content converted to HDR on the fly. Side-by-side with the Moto Edge 60 Fusion, the P4 Pro delivered richer colours, sharper details, and smoother motion — the difference is noticeable even without pixel-peeping.

Realme P4 Pro first look: Design that turns heads

At 7.68mm thick and 189 grams, the P4 Pro is slim, light, and built for comfort. The large vapor chamber helps keep temps in check during heavy gaming sessions, while the standout Birch Wood finish gives it personality.

It’s technically plastic, but the subtle wood grain feels premium and instantly sets it apart from the sea of glass and metal phones.

Midnight and other finishes are available, but Birch Wood is the one that draws eyes.

Realme P4 Pro first look: Final word

Between the AI visuals, boosted gaming performance, premium design, and aggressive pricing, the Realme P4 Pro looks like it’s ready to shake up the midrange category.

If Realme sticks the landing on price, this could be the phone to beat in 2025.
