Netflix cracks down on password sharing worldwide - 100+ countries face stricter rules!

Netflix has tightened its grip on password sharing in over 100 countries, including the United States, by notifying customers that sharing accounts with people outside their homes will no longer be authorized without paying extra penalties. To counteract market saturation, Netflix is exploring other revenue streams, such as limiting password borrowing and launching an ad-supported option. Users in 103 countries have received emails highlighting the account limitation, including countries like the US, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Mexico, and Brazil. For an extra $8/month, paying customers in the US can invite members from outside their households, and profiles can be transferred to preserve watching history and recommendations. Netflix had already announced measures to address account sharing, stating that over 100 million households shared login information. As of March, Netflix had 232.5 million paying subscribers worldwide.
