Apple to pre-install latest software update on boxed iPhones: Report

Apple introduces a new system to wirelessly update boxed iPhones in retail stores, ensuring customers get devices with the latest iOS. Major stores, including Apple BKC and Saket, are expected to adopt this system soon.

Apple to pre-install latest software update on boxed iPhones: Report

In a move to make sure every new iPhone has the newest system right away, Apple is starting something new. They plan to pre-install the latest software update on iPhones that are waiting to be sold at retail stores. This change is big because it means all the phones will have the newest iOS, even if they are still in the box.

Apple Pre-Install Latest Software Update on Boxed iPhones

Apple is creating a special new system to install the latest software updates on boxed iPhones. They're going to use a kind of pad that can talk to the iPhones without wires. This pad can turn the iPhones on, put in the new software, and turn them off again, all on its own. This happens without anyone needing to open the box or touch the phone. So, when someone buys a new iPhone from the store, it will already have the newest system in it.

When Will This Start?

People are excited and waiting to see when this new tool will be in stores. Apple wants to get it into their retail stores before this year is over. They are planning to set it up in specific stores, including some big ones like Apple BKC and Saket.

Making Sure iPhones Have the Best System Right Away

Apple is known for being good at giving out new system updates for the iPhone. They even make new updates for older phones. They are doing this to make sure that every phone doesn't have any problems or mistakes in the system when someone buys it. Usually, new iPhones come with a new system, but sometimes an even newer update comes out right after the phone goes on sale.

For example, when the iPhone 15 came out, it had iOS 17. But then, Apple made a newer version called iOS 17.0.1 right when the iPhone 15 started being sold. Some people who buy new iPhones might not put the newer system in right away. These updates are really important because they fix any problems that the first version of the new system had.

There was also a problem where some iPhone 15s couldn't move information from an old phone without the new update. With the new pad system, Apple can make sure this kind of problem doesn't happen. This means people will start with the best, most up-to-date system as soon as they open their new phone.

In the end, what Apple is trying to do is make sure anyone who buys an iPhone from their retail stores will get a phone that's up to date. They want to make sure everyone has the best experience with their new phone right from the start.
