Pros
  • Durable design with titanium case and sapphire glass
  • Plenty of health and fitness features
  • Excellent sleep tracking
  • Wear OS is smooth
  • Good battery life

Cons
  • Bulky design
  • Temperature sensor not active at launch
  • Wish it came with a physical rotating bezel

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro offers a stronger build, bigger battery and advanced fitness features. On the other hand, it skips out on the iconic spinning bezel that made the Galaxy watch series so popular in the first place.

Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Design

The Galaxy Watch 5 Progets a new titanium casing and a tougher sapphire crystal over its screen that Samsung claims is 2X tougher.

There's even a raised bezel around the rim to protect the display. It offers IP68 and 5ATM ratings for water and pressure resistance, as well as a military-grade MIL-STD-810H certification.

The grey coloured 45 mm titanium case has a certain industrial appeal but at the same time, it is quite chunky, and the watch only comes in one size.

Samsung's new D-buckle sports band is excellent. It comes with a magnetic clasp that keeps the watch secure on your wrist. I found it more comfortable than a traditional pin hole strap, and it always stayed put during workouts.

Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Display

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro gets a circular 1.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 450x450. It's impressively sharp, super bright and can be set to always on.

The default watch faces are really good, too. A lot of them are customizable, and they look very colourful on this beautiful display.

Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Performance & Software

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro uses the same Exynos W920 processor as last year's Galaxy Watch 4. Performance is mostly smooth, apps open up quickly and I didn't encounter any major slowdowns.

In terms of software, Samsung continues its partnership with Google by Utilising the best of Wear OS. This means you get access to the Play Store, and Google services like Youtube Music, Google maps and Google Fit.

Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Health & Fitness

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro brings a lot of useful health and fitness related features. Samsung's BioActive sensor makes a return and it can be used to measure stuff like heart rate, blood oxygen, and sleep.

In addition to this, Samsung has included a new body temperature tracker. Unfortunately, it’s not yet working, so it does feel like an incomplete feature.

I also used the body composition analysis feature that was introduced on the Galaxy Watch 4 series. It gives you a quick snapshot on your body fat and skeletal muscle. The measurements seem to be more consistent on the Watch 5 Pro and it's a nice way to keep track of your fitness goals over time.

Fitness tracking on Watch 5 Pro is very reliable with over 90 exercises to choose from. You can also import GPX maps for hiking or cycling, so you can get turn by turn navigation, and there's also 'Track Back' navigation to guide you back to your starting point.

Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Battery

The Watch 5 Pro has a 590mAh battery. Samsung says it will last up to 80 hours on a single charge, and up to 20 hours with GPS enabled.

Another important upgrade for Watch 5 Pro is charging speed, which has been bumped up to 10W.

Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Pricing in India

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro starts at ₹44,999 for the Bluetooth model . In comparison, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is priced at ₹ 34,999 for the 46mm Bluetooth variant.
