Redmi Watch Move Review: A budget smartwatch that gets most things right

Redmi Watch Move is a feature-packed budget smartwatch with AMOLED display, 14-day battery life, 140+ sports modes, and Bluetooth calling—all at ₹1,999. Easily the best value smartwatch under ₹2,000 in India right now.

Redmi Watch Move Review: A budget smartwatch that gets most things right

Xiaomi has rolled out its latest budget-friendly wearable—the Redmi Watch Move. Aimed at users who want essential features without spending a fortune, this smartwatch brings a mix of style, fitness tracking, and day-to-day practicality.

We tested the Matte Silver variant (also available in Black, Gold Rush, and Blue Blaze) to see if it delivers on the basics, and maybe a bit more. Here’s our detailed take on what it gets right and where it cuts corners.

Redmi Watch Move: Design & Build

Let’s be honest most budget smartwatches look budget. But the Redmi Watch Move breaks that pattern. At first glance, it could easily pass for a ₹3,000+ watch. The strap is made of TPU. It's soft, flexible, and doesn’t cause any irritation even after using it for a completely day.

Also, third-party straps work with it, so you’re not stuck with the one that came in the box.Weighing just 39 grams with the strap, it’s incredibly light on the wrist. That’s a massive plus for anyone planning to wear it while working out or even sleeping with it on.

The watch is available in Black, Gold Rush, Silver Sprint, and Blue Blaze. On the right side, there's a single crown that actually feels tactile and responsive, which is pretty rare at this price. You can use it to scroll through menus, and surprisingly, it provides tactile feedback.

The watch boasts an IP68 water resistance rating, meaning it should handle being in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes, without any issues. We put this to the test during a swimming session, and the watch worked without completely fine after the swim.

Redmi Watch Move: Display & Battery Life

The Redmi Watch Move features a 1.85-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 390x450 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate. That’s honestly impressive at this price. The screen feels fluid, and animations don’t stutter. The 600 nits peak brightness also means you won’t be squinting to check the time outdoors.Colours are punchy, and the overall experience feels like something that you would get in watches priced much higher.

However, there are some drawbacks. The bezels are thick and very prominent, especially if you’re using lighter watch faces. Also, there’s no auto-brightness, which can be annoying if you’re constantly moving indoors and outdoors.

Xiaomi has packed in a 300mAh battery, and they claim that it can last up to 14 days on a single charge. In our usage with light notifications, step tracking, sleep monitoring, and occasional workout logging, it actually held up for close to 11–12 days.

There’s also an Ultra Battery Saver Mode, which can stretch things even further if needed. There’s no fast charging here, but you get can charge the device completely in around 75 minutes which is reasonable.

For the kind of features it offers, the battery performance is more than fair.

Redmi Watch Move: Features & Performance

The Redmi Watch Move runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS, which is surprisingly smooth and snappy. You can scroll through menus, swipe between widgets, and check notifications with zero lag. You get 140+ sports modes, including everything from running and cycling to yoga and dancing.

Some modes come with auto-detection, and while it's not perfect, it works well enough for casual users. For health, you get SpO2 monitoring, heart rate tracking, sleep analysis, stress monitoring, and even female health tracking.

There’s also something called a Vitality Score, which sums up your activity for the week, a nice touch for people who like quick summaries.

Redmi claims a segment-best accuracy of 97%, and our testing shows that this is quite accurate. And yes, it supports Bluetooth calling. Call clarity isn’t premium, but it’s functional enough for quick chats when your phone’s in another room.

Redmi Watch Move: Price and Availability

The Redmi Watch Move is already available in the market for ₹1,999. It can be purchased via the official mi.com website and Flipkart.

Redmi Watch Move: Verdict

Overall, our experience with the Redmi Watch Move has been largely positive. It offers a well-rounded package with a solid design, bright AMOLED display, useful fitness and health features, and dependable battery life. At ₹1,999, the pricing feels more than fair for what you're getting, making it one of the most value-for-money smartwatches in its segment.
