  • Black colour gets scratched easily

Xiaomi is renowned for producing products that make people wonder, "How is this possible at this price point?!" Today, I have the Redmi Buds 4 Active, and even four people in our office exclaimed the same thing. To find out why, watch this video till the end and subscribe to our channel.

Design: The Redmi Buds 4 Active, priced at ₹1200, feels quite premium. It has a plastic build with a matte finish, making it lightweight. However, this colour is prone to scratches, so consider the white variant if scratches bother you. The lid is strong and closes with a single click. Even my OnePlus Buds Pro 2 lid feels of lesser quality compared to this. The earbuds are lightweight and provide a good in-ear fit. At the bottom, you'll find a USB Type-C port with an LED light, and there are no physical buttons. How do you pair them? Well, it's super simple!

Software and Features: Just open the lid, and you'll see a prompt on your phone. Yes, it supports Google Fast Pair. In terms of connectivity, it has Bluetooth 5.3 and supports SBC codes, which is expected at this price. If your phone and you stay in the same room, there's no problem. But if you leave the room without your phone, the connection starts to weaken. It has touch controls on the sides, and they work fine. Long-pressing both buds enables low latency mode, reducing latency up to 60ms. The Redmi Buds 4 Active can be paired with the Xiaomi Earbuds app, but it's basic and only provides the feature to enable or disable the latency mode. It could use more improvements. It also has an IPX4 rating. Again, the question arises, how is this possible at this price point!

Sound: But here's the thing, the audio is not bad. The earbuds have 12mm drivers that produce bass-heavy sound. However, I felt the thump was missing in the bass. To understand it easily, make a tight fist and hit the table, then do it with your palm. The fist produces thumpy bass, while the palm produces the bass that these earbuds have. The vocals are clear, and you can hear some instrument sounds as well. The call quality is good indoors, but if you go outside, only AirPods can compete. So the audio quality is not exceptional, but expecting more than this at ₹1200 would be unfair.

Battery: The case has a 440mAh battery, and each earbud has a 34mAh battery. Xiaomi claims 5 hours of battery life from the buds and 30 hours with the case, and in my testing, the claim turned out to be accurate. I used them for almost a week, listening to music for 2-3 hours daily, and I didn't need to charge them.

Verdict: After using them for a week, I found only one significant problem, and that is their name. Besides that, the Redmi Buds 4 Active doesn't have any major issues. So if you're looking for earbuds that look good, are feature-packed, and provide decent sound quality, then the Redmi Buds 4 Active could be a perfect choice for you. Just like our channel is a perfect choice for the best reviews. So subscribe and see you in the next video. Bye!
