Tech giant Apple has made a new move in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) with its acquisition of Canada-based AI company, Darwin AI.

This strategic move is anticipated to bring about substantial advancements in AI technology and its applications across Apple's range of products and services.

Darwin AI Acquisition and Integration

The acquisition of Darwin AI by Apple signifies the tech giant's commitment to leveraging AI capabilities to enhance the inspection of components during the manufacturing process.

This move, as reported by Bloomberg, also involves the integration of several key employees from Darwin AI into Apple's artificial intelligence division, with Alexander Wong, a notable researcher from Darwin AI, now leading Apple's AI efforts.

Rollout of Generative AI

In a bid to improve user experience, Apple is planning to introduce generative AI technology aimed at enabling human-like responses.

This development is expected to be incorporated into the upcoming iOS 18 and macOS 15 operating systems, underscoring Apple's dedication to pushing the boundaries of AI integration within its ecosystem.

Enhancements Across Apple Products and Services

Apart from the introduction of generative AI, reports indicate that Apple is also focusing on integrating AI capabilities across its core applications and productivity software, such as Pages, Keynote, and Apple Music.

Apple's AI ambitions extend to revamping its virtual assistant, Siri, through an AI-based system aimed at facilitating customer support and troubleshooting within AppleCare.
