BCCI and IPL Governing Council's rationale behind the change in plans is to avoid any further incidents due to any undetected case during a long-distance bus journey in a closed environment.

According to a press release, a total of 5 cases have emerged from the Delhi Capitals camp. 1 cricketer and 4 members of the support staff have tested positive and all are in isolation. Mitchell Marsh, the cricketer who tested positive is under observation in a hospital in Mumbai.
