As the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday launched Easy Jamabandi Portal, the state scripted a new success story in providing citizen centric services to people in a corruption free, smooth, hassle free and transparent manner. &nbsp;
Both the leaders said that Punjab is taking yet another historic step to root out corruption from key revenue services that lakhs of people are dependent on every year. They said that a few days ago, Punjab launched the &lsquo;Easy Registry&rsquo; initiative, aimed at making property registration simpler and more transparent and to eliminate corruption. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that they have launched this initiative in Mohali and it&rsquo;s a big hit with the people adding that not even a single corruption complaint has been registered in the last month from one entire district which reflects its resounding success.
Both the leaders said that will be extending this to the whole of Punjab by July 15th adding that as Aam Aadmi Party had promised a corruption-free governance to the people of Punjab, and today&rsquo;s revolutionary initiative reflects the honesty, transparency, and pro-people mindset of our government. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that the portal will enable people to available five main services WhatsApp te Jamabandi (Getting Jamabandi via WhatsApp), Online Intkal (mutation) seva, Rapat Entry, Fard Badar (Correction of Land Records) and Fard Badar (Correction of Land Records). Elaborating it, they said that WhatsApp te Jamabandi (Getting Jamabandi via WhatsApp) will facilitate the people in a big way as 40 lakh people annually either had to visit their Patwari or visit Fard Centers to obtain land record copies (Jamabandi).
However, both the leaders said that now, there is no need to visit a Patwari, stand in queues, or pay bribes for land records as people have to simply go to the Easy Jamabandi website, enter their details and they will get a copy of your Jamabandi for free. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that this will be digitally signed and will have a QR code adding that anyone can scan the QR cord to verify the land record. They said that the state government has digitized land records for 99% of villages in Punjab, all those land records can be availed through this service adding that the remaining villages too will be digitized in the next two months.

Divulging details about Online Intkal (mutation) seva both the leaders said that every year, eight &nbsp;lakh mutations are processed (6 lakh via deed registrations and 2 lakh through inheritance). Previously, Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that getting the ownership updated after buying land or inheriting property involved months of running around and hurdles adding that now, Patwaris cannot create obstacles, and there is no need to pay bribes. They said that if anyone is registering their deed, the mutation will happen automatically within 30 days and in case of inheritance, they can submit request for mutation online on Easy Jamabandi website and the same shall be done within a strict 30-day time limit after which they will get Whatsapp update at every stage of the process.
Speaking about Rapat Entry, Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that every year, about 2 lakh Rapat entries (due to court orders or loans) are made adding that now, there&rsquo;s no need for physical paperwork or office visits. They said that every case of individual will move digitally from the Patwari with no manual discretion or red-tapeism. Both the leaders said that their Rapat entry will be made within one day for court orders and within seven days for loans.
Giving details about Fard Badar (Correction of Land Records), Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that every year, about 60,000 Fard Badar (record correction) requests are made. They said that to correct errors in land records (say name spelling), people will no longer need to make rounds of government offices or rely on the goodwill of Tehsildars. Both the leaders said that now, a simple form with the required documents can be submitted online and the application will be processed within 15 days time limit adding that nominal application fee for these services will also be paid online.
Speaking about Jamabandi layi Subscribe karo (Subscribe to Your Land Records), Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that in a historic move to protect land ownership, especially for NRIs, the Punjab Government has introduced the &ldquo;Subscribe to Your Land Records&rdquo; feature. Previously, they said that many land records were altered without the owner&rsquo;s knowledge, and often they would find out years later, after which they had to endure long delayed legal struggle in courts to get them corrected. Both the leaders said landowners can now visit the government&rsquo;s website and subscribe to their land records by paying an annual fee of ₹500 per Khewat (landholding record).
Both the leaders said that this gives them the right to digitally safeguard their land from anywhere in the world. For instance, they said that if there is any attempt to tamper with the subscribed record, the landowner will receive an instant alert via WhatsApp or email after which they can immediately raise an objection online, which will be sent directly to the concerned revenue officer. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that this step ensures land security for NRIs across the globe.
Both the leaders said that for services like Jamabandi (land record copy), Intkal (mutation), and Fard Badar (record correction), every individual previously had to approach Patwaris or Tehsildars. Unfortunately, they said that these offices had become synonymous with corruption but now they &nbsp;won&rsquo;t have to visit offices of patwards or tehsildars repeatedly. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that now all can be done from the comfort of your home with just a click through the website easyjamabandi.punjab.gov.in adding it can also be availed by dialling 1076, or by submitting applications at any Sewa kendra.

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), during its ongoing drive against corruption, has arrested Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Baldev Singh, posted at police station Sultanpur Lodhi, district Kapurthala for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 2,000.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the state VB said the arrest has been made following a complaint lodged by a resident of Kapurthala on the Chief Minister&rsquo;s Anti Corruption Action Line.
He further added that as per the complaint, the accused ASI had demanded a bribe Rs. 10,000 for allowing the complainant to join the investigation in a police case after getting anticipatory bail from the court. Later the police personnel asked to pay Rs 5000 for this motive but due to persistent appeals by the complainant he accepted Rs 2000 bribe.
The spokesperson further informed that during verification, the allegations levelled in the complaint were found to be true. Subsequently, a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the aforementioned accused at the VB Police Station, Jalandhar Range and arrested the accused. Further investigation into this case was under progress, he said.

The move comes following the remarkable success of the previous academic year, where 265 government school students have qualified for JEE (Mains) and 44 students cleared JEE (Advanced).
&nbsp;S. Harjot Singh Bains said that Punjab School Education department is hosting the Residential Summer Coaching Camp- 2025 under its flagship School of Eminence programme to provide top-notch competitive exam coaching to government school students.
"As many as 600 students of Class 12th, selected through a rigorous process, will be participating in the 7th edition of the Residential Summer Coaching Camp," he said, while adding that the 23-day intensive camp includes 500 students preparing for JEE and 100 for NEET, highlighting the program's sustained success.

At least 10 persons, including one of the pilots and crew members, on board the ill-fated London-bound Air India flight that crashed in Ahmedabad hailed from Maharashtra, officials said on Friday.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft (AI171) with 230 passengers and 12 crew members crashed into the complex of a medical college moments after taking off from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon.
One person survived the crash, while 241 on board were killed, of whom 10 were from Maharashtra, an official said.
He said the aircraft's pilot, Captain Sumeet Pushkaraj Sabharwal (56), was a resident of Jal Vayu Vihar in the Powai area of Mumbai and lived with his elderly parents.
The co-pilot of the flight, Clive Kunder, was a resident of the western suburbs of Mumbai, as per his social media account.
Cabin crew member Deepak Pathak lived in Badlapur in neighbouring Thane district.
Pathak's sister had earlier said he spoke to his mother before leaving for London. He had been working with Air India for 11 years, she said.
Another crew member, Maithili Patil (23), was a resident of Nhava village in Navi Mumbai. Patil joined Air India two years ago, and her father, Moreshwar Patil, is a labour contractor with ONGC.
Patil had spoken to her father before her flight to London and promised to call him once she reached the city, a former sarpanch of Nhava said.
Aparna Mahadik (43), another crew member, was a resident of Goregaon in the western suburbs, and her husband also works with Air India as a crew member.
She was a relative of NCP leader Sunil Tatkare.
Roshni Rajendra Songhare and Saineeta Chakravarti, both crew members, hailed from Dombivli and Juhu Koliwada, respectively.
Songhare was also a travel influencer with more than 54,000 followers on Instagram.
The victims also included Mahadev Pawar (68) and his wife Asha (60), who hailed from Hatid village in Sangola of Solapur district.
The Pawars had left Sangola and settled in Gujarat 15 years ago, and they were heading to London to visit their son.
One of the passengers, Yasha Kamdar Modha (32), was the daughter of Nagpur businessman Manish Kamdar. She was travelling to London with her son Rudra and mother-in-law Rakshaben, and all three perished in the crash.

Highlighting the ongoing rehabilitation efforts in Jyotirmath, Dhami said, "With the cooperation of the Government of India, the work of the rehabilitation scheme is in progress in Jyotirmath at a cost of more than 1700 crores."

In view of the upcoming Kainchi Dham Foundation Day Fair on June 15, Uttarakhand Additional Director General of Police (Crime and Law and Order), V Murugeshan, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the fair site on Thursday to review security, traffic, and logistical arrangements.
According to officials, the ADG assessed key areas including crowd control measures, surveillance systems, traffic routes, and overall convenience for devotees visiting the popular religious site. He was accompanied by Inspector General of Police (Kumaon Region) Ridhim Agarwal, Senior Superintendent of Police (Nainital) Prahlad Narayan Meena, and other senior officials.
Murugeshan began his visit by offering prayers at the Kainchi Dham temple and then inspected the temple premises, main access roads, parking facilities, and areas expected to witness heavy footfall.
Later, during a review meeting at Sardar Patel Bhawan in Bhawali, the Nainital SSP presented a detailed report on the preparations made so far. The ADG issued specific instructions to ensure foolproof arrangements ahead of the event.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Traffic management and crowd control are the top priorities of the government and administration. All preparations should be ensured in a timely, coordinated and systematic manner,&rdquo; Murugeshan said.
Officials said three PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) companies and over 800 police personnel are proposed to be deployed across zones and sectors to manage the fair efficiently.
Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level meeting and directed authorities to strengthen current operations at the Kainchi Dham fair while also laying the foundation for a permanent and effective management system.
He also instructed that the road-cutting work along the 3-kilometre stretch between Sanatorium and Bhawali Petrol Pump be completed on priority to improve vehicular movement.
&ldquo;Our government has prepared a systematic plan for traffic management and crowd control. Along with the proper development of the state's religious areas, we are committed to providing every possible facility for devotees coming to Devbhoomi,&rdquo; CM Dhami stated.
The Kainchi Dham Fair draws thousands of devotees from across the country, and this year&rsquo;s edition is expected to witness even larger crowds.

Uttar Pradesh plans major tech-driven overhaul of its Forest Force, introducing AI, GPS, drones, and a command centre for real-time monitoring and conservation.

The Uttar Pradesh Forest and Wildlife Department on Thursday said it has formulated an action plan to modernise the "UP Forest Force", according to a statement.
According to officials from the department, the force will be upgraded using IT and AI technologies, sensor-enabled surveillance cameras, GPS tracking devices and other smart monitoring tools to strengthen forest protection, management, and prevention of wildlife crimes.
"The initiative also includes the development of an Integrated Forest Management System (IFMS) and the establishment of a centralised command centre for real-time monitoring," the statement read.
"The effort aims not only to enhance conservation and management but also to ensure data-driven decision-making and swift action in response to forest offences," it added.
Uttar Pradesh, known for its rich biodiversity and forest resources, has long faced challenges such as illegal logging, wildlife trafficking, and human-wildlife conflict. To combat these issues, the Forest and Wildlife Department has, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership, developed a plan to make the UP Forest Force more vigilant and effective through the use of modern technologies.
"As part of this plan, the department is developing an Integrated Forest Management System (IFMS) that will utilise advanced technologies like drones, satellite imagery, GIS mapping, and sensor-based surveillance. This system will allow for precise and efficient monitoring and forest conservation," it said.
"It will also help track all activities within forest zones, aiding in the prevention of unexpected and unlawful incidents," it added.
To facilitate real-time monitoring across forest regions, tiger reserves, safaris and national parks in the state, the department is establishing a centralised command centre.
This digital control hub will monitor all key operations related to forest and wildlife management and collect relevant data, the statement said.
The analysis of data at the command centre will provide immediate insights into forest crimes, fire incidents and wildlife movements, enabling prompt and effective response, it added.
A senior Forest Department official stated that the goal is to make forest management and conservation more efficient and responsive through modern technology.
"The department is also prioritising data-driven decision-making, which will enhance accuracy. In addition, the use of AI and machine learning will allow for better analysis of wildlife behaviour and environmental changes, helping to formulate long-term conservation strategies with greater ease," the official said.&nbsp;

The chief minister highlighted technology as the foundation for progress and public service as the means of governance.
"Government does not mean owner, government does not mean king. Government means one that can become a participant for the common man," Adityanath said, adding that a government should be sensitive to the needs of the common people and committed to public service as its life's resolution.
Without taking names, he further remarked that there was a time when a certain political party that ruled Uttar Pradesh had turned cheating into a birthright for many, damaging the state's image and creating an identity crisis for its youth.
Adityanath also highlighted his government's initiative to conduct copy-free examinations over the past eight years, indicating that the positive outcomes are now becoming apparent.
"Today, the youth and citizens of Uttar Pradesh, wherever they go, be it within the country or globally, no one will question them," the chief minister said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday emphasised the need to establish integrated government office complexes in Mathura and Kanpur to bring all district and divisional-level offices under one roof, according to an official statement.
Reviewing the 'Vision 2030' plans for Mathura-Vrindavan and Kanpur metropolitan areas, the chief minister instructed officials to ensure that these integrated complexes are equipped with proper facilities including chambers for advocates, adequate parking, food courts, and other civic amenities.
"Such integrated offices will not only streamline administrative work but also eliminate the inconvenience caused to people by having to visit multiple offices," he said.
Focusing on long-term infrastructure, heritage preservation, and traffic decongestion in the temple town of Mathura-Vrindavan, Adityanath was informed that 195 projects worth around Rs 30,080 crore have been proposed for Mathura.
Of these, work has begun on 23 projects, while 172 are under various stages of planning, the statement said.
Adityanath emphasised the need to maintain the sanctity of religious sites and directed that facilities for clean drinking water, toilets and resting spaces be developed on pilgrimage routes.
He underlined the importance of Vrindavan&rsquo;s Swami Haridas cultural auditorium, a proposed digital museum, a convention centre, and an environmental corridor as key long-term investments.
He further instructed that a statue of Swami Haridas be installed at the auditorium and called for the development of a Krishna Lok Park at Jawahar Bagh under a PPP model.
Adityanath directed that plantation and conservation of trees mentioned in Krishna-era texts be prioritised. He reiterated the importance of collective efforts to restore the flow and purity of the Yamuna River.
Reviewing the development roadmap for Kanpur, the officers informed that the 'Vision 2030' blueprint for Kanpur comprises 61 projects valued at over Rs 37,000 crore, the statement read.
The plan aims at decongesting the city's core, strengthening public transport, expanding industrial infrastructure, and developing modern townships, healthcare and educational institutions.
Among the major proposals are the New Kanpur City, Knowledge City, MedCity, Atal Nagar (under the land pooling model), EV Park, AeroCity, and a mega MSME cluster. Officials informed the Chief Minister that New Kanpur City, being developed over 153 hectares at a cost of Rs 1,169 crore, will feature 2,000 residential plots and multiple commercial zones to accommodate a population of 35,000.
On the transport front, Adityanath stressed the need to tackle urban encroachments, which he identified as a major cause of traffic congestion.
He called for proper rehabilitation of street vendors and reviewed 29 infrastructure projects including master plan roads, an outer ring road, the Trans-Ganga bridge, an RRTS corridor, metro expansion, an integrated bus terminal, junction improvement works, and electric bus deployment.
An Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) with smart signalling and CCTV networks at 102 key intersections is also on the anvil.
Adityanath suggested shifting the central bus stand to the outskirts of Kanpur city and developing multiple intra-city bus stands as needed.
He further encouraged the development of all urban parks as theme-based parks in partnership with NGOs and civil society groups.
Stating that the holistic development of Mathura and Kanpur will contribute significantly to the national goal of "Viksit Bharat 2047." He said the religious importance of Mathura and the industrial strength of Kanpur must be integrated to showcase both as model cities.&nbsp;

Heavy rains lashed Palghar district in the last 24 hours, leading to damage to houses and power infrastructure as well as two MSRTC buses, an official said.
The rains began late Thursday night and continued in the early hours of Friday, said Palghar District Disaster Management Cell chief Vivekanand Kadam.
"In Dahanu, 70 houses were damaged. The figure was 22 for Palghar taluka. Some cases were reported in Talasari and Vikramgad as well. The damage ranges from partial wall collapse to roofs being blown off amid rains and strong winds. Panchnamas are underway for compensation purposes," Kadam said.
Two Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation buses parked at a depot were damaged after a tree branch fell on them, though no one was hurt, he said.
In Boisar's Sushil Nagar area, a power pole collapsed, disrupting electricity supply in the vicinity, he said.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has taken several steps to make the by-election to West Bengal's Kaliganj assembly constituency inclusive and accessible, a senior official said on Friday.
Polling for the by-poll to the Kaliganj assembly constituency in Nadia district will be held on June 19 from 7 AM to 6 PM at 309 polling stations.
"Following the direction of the ECI to make the election inclusive, accessible, and participative, we have taken several steps," the poll official said.
There will be one model polling station (MPS), while two booths will be managed entirely by women personnel, he said.
The MPS will be managed by polling officials of Persons with Disabilities (PwD), he said, adding that the total number of electors in this polling station is 559.
"The model polling station will have a creche facility for children. It will be decked up in a way that will reflect the history of Nadia district," he said.
The model polling is conceptualised to provide a pleasant and festive experience to the voters.
"Besides providing assured minimum facilities like drinking water, toilets, and ramps at all the polling stations, a model polling station attempts to provide additional facilities like queue-less voting for PwD and senior citizens, waiting halls, creches, and first aid kits," the official added.
Two polling booths located at a school will be managed entirely by women polling personnel, the official said, adding that the number of voters in the two booths is 823 and 996, he said.
The opposition BJP named Ashis Ghosh as its candidate for the bypoll, while the ruling TMC nominated Alifa Ahmed, the daughter of Nasiruddin Ahmed, whose death necessitated the by-election.
The Congress fielded Kabil Uddin Shaikh as its candidate, and the CPI(M)-led Left Front has extended support to him.
The result will be declared on June 23.

"We are planning to start evening tours from the Prime Minister Museum to the War Memorial for tourists. Through this, we plan to target foreigners and tourists who come to Delhi. There are plans to hire the new nine-metre electric buses from the DTC," the official said.
Since the museum closes by 6 pm, we will start the tour from there, and then we will proceed to other locations, he said.
"The bus ride will be priced at Rs 500 for adults and Rs 300 for children aged between six and 12. There will be a tourist guide onboard, who will inform the visitors about the significance of the places they are being taken to," the person said.
"We plan to hire the bus from DTC, and we will see what the response is. We plan to use the bus for school picnics in the morning. For that, we plan to collaborate with the Directorate of Education," the official added.
In her budget speech, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had announced that her government will develop a new tourist circuit covering the War Memorial, Kartavya Path, Prime Minister Museum and New Parliament House.
The tourism department had also discussed plans of reviving the Hop-on Hop-off (Ho Ho) buses model that was stalled in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. However, it was felt that in a place like Delhi, the model is not sustainable.
"Abroad, the Ho-Ho buses are available at regular intervals. But in Delhi, that won't be possible considering the traffic situation.
"There were plans for having targeted tours &mdash; like having a tour of markets, heritage monuments, etc and having different colours of buses for that. But it was felt that people might visit heritage monuments, but won't like visiting malls or markets using the buses," the official added.

A day before he was murdered, Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi and his now-arrested wife, Sonam, had disappeared for several hours after checking into a homestay here before returning late for dinner, its owner said on Friday.
The Indore couple checked in at our property on May 22 and ordered a coffee each, Constantine, the owner of Shipara Homestay, told PTI.
"They then went out without a guide. I assume they went to see the root bridge like every other tourist who came to the village," he said, adding that Raja had paid Rs 1,000 for the room, Rs 80 for the coffee and Rs 300 for dinner.
The couple, who had not made any prior room reservations for their trip to Meghalaya, earlier did not get a room at a homestay in Sohra in East Khasi Hills district, which forced them to trek from Mawlakhiat to Nongriat, also in the same district, with the help of a guide, villagers said.
Interestingly, despite Sonam&rsquo;s claim to her mother-in-law over the phone that she was fasting, Constantine said both had a "very good dinner", which they enjoyed.
Another villager saw the couple near the root bridge before dark.
Constantine said he recalled the face of Raja when he saw it later on social media.
However, he added that he did not notice the presence of the three hitmen &mdash; friends of Sonam&rsquo;s lover &mdash; who allegedly took part in the murder.
At the homestay, Raja and Sonam occupied one of the five available rooms.
Constantine recalled their unusual behaviour the next morning (May 23).
"It was unusually early for our guests to wake up that early (5am). They knocked on our door and I had to wake up my wife to enquire if they needed breakfast. They refused and told me they wanted to check out," he said.
Raghuvanshi and his wife went missing while vacationing in Sohra the same day. His body was found in a gorge on June 2.
Constantine said he was not aware of where the three other accomplices stayed.
Meanwhile, Sonam, Raj (accused of being the main conspirator), and the three alleged hitmen were being held at Sadar police station in Shillong, where they were served North Indian food.
A senior police officer said that considering their food habits, which are unlike the local food preferences here, the accused were served simple North Indian food and were also given another set of clothes.

With the war against drugs &ldquo;Yudh Nashian Virudh&rdquo; waged on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state completed 103 days, Punjab Police on Thursday arrested 119 drug smugglers and recovered 1.7 kg heroin, 14.6 kg opium and Rs 57480 drug money from their possession. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 17,137 in just 103 days.
The operation was conducted on the directions of Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav simultaneously in all 28 Police districts of the state.
Notably, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has asked the Commissioners of Police, Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendent of Police to make Punjab drug free state. The Punjab government has also constituted a 5-member Cabinet Sub Committee led by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema to monitor the war against drugs.
Divulging details, Special DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla informed that over 200 Police teams, comprising over 1300 police personnel, under the supervision of 89 gazetted officers have conducted raids at as many as 465 locations across the state leading to the registration of 93 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. Police teams have also checked as many as 489 suspicious persons during the day-long operation, he added.
The Special DGP said that with the state government has enforced a three-pronged strategy&mdash; Enforcement, Deaddiction and Prevention (EDP)&mdash; to eradicate drugs from the state, the Punjab Police as part of &lsquo;De-addiction&rsquo; has convinced 38 persons to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment today.
