Who Is The Highest-Paid Actor In India: Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan Or Mohanlal?

Thalapathy Vijay is preparing for his final film as he transitions from acting to full-time politics.

The South Indian superstar has grabbed headlines by becoming India's highest-paid actor, with a staggering Rs 275 crore fee for his upcoming project, Thalapathy 69, according to Filmibeat.

Vijay, known for his string of blockbuster hits, has solidified his status as a pan-India icon.

Thalapathy 69 has generated significant excitement even before its official announcement.

Produced by Bengaluru’s KVN Productions, renowned for a string of successful films in Kannada and Telugu, this marks their debut in Tamil cinema.

With Vijay leading the cast, Thalapathy 69 has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s previous record earnings of Rs 250 crore, making Vijay the highest-paid actor in India.

Directed by H Vinoth, the film promises to be a full-fledged commercial entertainer with broad appeal and no political undertones.

Meanwhile, Vijay is celebrating the success of his recent release, The Greatest of All Time, which has been lauded as one of his best performances and has earned over 100 crore in Tamil Nadu.

‘The Greatest of All Time’, directed by Venkat Prabhu, has performed well at the Tamil Nadu box office, grossing Rs 178 crore domestically. On Friday alone, it collected over Rs 6.5 crore. The film saw a Tamil occupancy rate of 33.07% on its ninth day, with morning shows at 17.24% and night shows reaching 49.89%, reflecting growing audience interest.

However, the Hindi and Telugu versions have underperformed, earning Rs 11.3 crore and Rs 10.3 crore, respectively.

Meanwhile, Vijay has launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), and is planning its first state conference, which has been postponed from September 23 to October.
