Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth file for divorce after 20 years of marriage: Report

Actor Dhanush and director Aishwarya Rajinikanth have filed for divorce at the Chennai family court. The couple announced their separation in January 2022 after 18 years of marriage. They are parents to two sons, Yatra and Linga.

Despite rumours suggesting that the couple is getting back together after what appeared like a rough patch in their marriage, Dhanush and Aishwarya have filed for divorce. As per an India Today report, the star couple filed for divorce at the Chennai family court recently. It added that the duo have filed the petition under Section 13 B- divorce by mutual consent.

In January 2022, Aishwarya and Dhanush announced their decision to part ways on their respective Instagram pages. Their statement read, "18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better (sic)."

Dhanush and Aishwarya's marriage

Dhanush and Aishwarya tied the knot in 2004 in a grand wedding attended by the who's who of the South film industry The two are now parents to two sons, Yatra and Linga. Following their separation, the two continue to co-parent their sons.

Recently, Dhanush also cheered up for Aishwarya's latest film, 'Lal Salaam,' also starring her father Rajinikanth.
