‘Devara’: Jr NTR starrer will be released in 2 parts; director feels ‘one part won’t do justice'

'Every character in the film has its own weight and they need to be explored and established in depth and in detail, which we can’t justify in one part. So, we took the decision to tell this big story and canvas in two parts,' director said.

Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor starrer ‘Devara’ will be released in two parts. The announcement was made by director Koratala Siva through a special video.

He revealed that the big-budget spectacle will be made in two parts as one film will not do justice to the characters.

He said, ‘The film is set against the forgotten lands of coastal India and the canvas is too big. As we started shooting the film, the canvas revealed itself and started getting bigger and bigger. Every character in the film has its own weight and they need to be explored and established in depth and in detail, which we can’t justify in one part. So, we took the decision to tell this big story and canvas in two parts. The story won’t change in shape but will thrive in scale. One of the biggest canvases ever of Devara will be done in two parts and April 5, 2024 is just the beginning.’

‘Devara’, produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts and presented by Nandamuri Kalyana Ram, marks the debut of Janhvi in Telugu.

The film also stars Saif Ali Khan, Shine Tom Chacko, and Prakash Raj among others.

Part I of ‘Devara’ is scheduled to be released in theatres on April 5, 2024. The film’s music is by Anirudh Ravichander and the cinematography is by R Rathnavelu.

Lately, it has become a trend to make sequels and multiple parts. After the success of films like ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, makers are trying to make the most out of one story.

The second part of Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa’ is currently in the making and there are many such sequels to hit films in the pipeline.
