‘Squid Game’ actor Lee Byung Hun's LA home burglarised; no harm reported

Lee Byung Hun's agency, BH Entertainment, provided an update following a burglary at the actor's Los Angeles residence, which reportedly occurred last week. The agency reassured that no harm or damage had been inflicted.

Soompi quoted the agency as saying, ‘It is true that there was a break-in at Lee Byung Hun’s home in the United States, but it has been confirmed that there was no damage.’

Recent reports detailed a burglary at Lee Byung Hun's Los Angeles residence, noting that the intruder had entered by breaking the sliding glass door. It's worth noting that the property belongs to the actor renowned for his role in ‘Squid Game,’ and it was reported that Byung Hun was absent from home at the time of the incident.

A report on TMZ mentioned, ‘One of Lee's staff members stopped by his Los Angeles area home last week to find the place ransacked. We're told the thieves smashed a sliding glass door to get inside the house.’

Soompi quoted the police, ‘This appears to be the act of one of the robbers who break into [houses in] wealthy areas around Los Angeles.’

Reportedly, law enforcement authorities do not suspect that the actor was specifically targeted in the incident. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is actively investigating the matter.

The burglary incident occurred not long after a similar incident involving actor Lena Waithe's house. Lena Waithe reportedly suffered a loss of $200,000 worth of jewelry when burglars entered her West Hollywood mansion through a window. The 39-year-old actor was also away from home when the break-in occurred.

Lee Byung Hun is expected to return to Los Angeles soon, and it is anticipated that the police will be able to confirm if any items have been stolen once he can identify his belongings in the house.

Lee Byung Hun and his wife, Lee Min Jung, purchased their Los Angeles residence in 2019. The property is said to be located near Universal Studios, a popular tourist destination, and is suitable for a family of five or six. It was reportedly acquired for around $2 million.

The actor gained recognition as the lead in Netflix series ‘Squid Game’ and made his Hollywood debut in 2009 with the film ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.’
