‘Squid Game 2’: Meet the new cast members of the survival drama

Netflix’s popular show ‘Squid Game’ will soon be returning with its second season.

Netflix announced the first line-up for the survival drama at the Tudum event and faced criticism for not having enough female cast.

Now, Netflix Korea has confirmed the names of the new cast members with pictures from their first reading.

New additions for ‘Squid Game 2’ include Park Gyu-young (Sweet Home), Jo Yu-ri of Iz*One, Kang Ae-sim (Move to Heaven), Lee David (The Fortress and Svaha: The Sixth Finger), Lee Jin-uk (Miss Granny and Sweet Home), BigBang member Choi Seung-hyun (Tazza: The Hidden Card and Commitment), Roh Jae-won (Missing Yoon and Ditto), and Won Ji-an (Heartbeat).

The recurring cast members will include, Lee Byung-hun, who will return as the Front Man and Wi Ha-jun, who reprise his role as police detective Jun-ho. Gong Yoo will be coming back as well, along with Lee Jung-jae.

The main cast members will include Yim Si-wan (Unlocked), Kang Ha-Neul (Midnight Runners), Park Sung-hoon (The Glory) and Yang Dong-geun (Yaksha: Ruthless Operations).

‘Squid Game’, directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, remains one of the highest-watched series on Netflix. The show first debuted on September 17, 2021.

Following the global success, a new competition show, titled ‘Squid Game: The Challenge’, was also announced.

The competition will feature 456 players who will be fighting for a $4.56M cash prize.
