Paul Kim announces wedding plans with girlfriend, couple to forgo the official ceremony

Korean singer and songwriter Kim Tae Hyeong, popularly known as Paul Kim, is getting married to his girlfriend of 9 years. Paul shared the news with his fans on Instagram. Thanking his loved ones who supported his decision, he pondered how the sudden announcement could take fans by surprise but added that he's eager to embrace the upcoming moments with open arms. Praising his girlfriend as ‘someone who always tells me that it is okay every time I have a hard time’, he also mentioned that his soon-to-be wife understands and supports him. He also revealed that they have decided to forgo the wedding ceremony with the permission of both their families.

His full letter is as follows:

“Hello, this is Paul Kim.

I am writing this because I want to be the first to convey this news to Paul in Love [fandom name].

I’ve been pondering over the right words to express my thoughts, and I’m still a bit nervous, but I’ll gather my courage and share them with you.

The songs I started writing with the hope of finding happiness in life have brought me a wealth of experiences and emotions.

While I’ve received support and encouragement from many people, it was Paul in Love who gave me the greatest strength when I faced my own shortcomings.

Thanks to all of you who always understood and believed in me, even when I lacked the ability to express myself fully, I was able to be my true self.

I’m always grateful to Paul in Love for being by my side during the happy moments as well as for giving me courage during the times when I had to endure.

There were times when it was hard for me to show the parts of myself that I disliked in front of many people. But then I met someone who always told me that it was okay.

Nine years have passed since I met this person who understands and supports me for who I am, with all my limitations and imperfections, and I’m now planning to spend my life with that person. We’ve decided to forgo the wedding ceremony in accordance with our wishes and with the permission of both families.

I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to those around me who have supported my decision and given me heartfelt advice.

I understand that some of you may be surprised by this sudden news, and my heart aches for that. However, I’m eager to embrace the upcoming moments with open arms, facing new emotions, learning, and growing.

Paul Kim made his debut in 2014 with the singles Would You Like Some Coffee? and Ex. He is also known for singing OSTs of various popular Korean dramas, 'Reborn Rich', 'Hotel Del Luna', 'The Glory' and more.
