BLACKPINK’s Rosé in talks to join YG Entertainment subsidiary THE BLACK LABEL: Report

Rosé embarked on her solo career in March 2021 with her debut single album titled R. Back then, the album sold nearly 450,000 copies in its first week, setting a record for a female K-pop artist.

BLACKPINK’s Rosé in talks to join YG Entertainment subsidiary THE BLACK LABEL: Report

BLACKPINK’s Rosé is reportedly in talks to join THE BLACK LABEL, a YG Entertainment subsidiary, for her solo activities, which is headed by producer Teddy, and Kush. THE BLACK LABEL represents artists like Jeon Somi, Taeyang, Zion.T, Lee Jong-won and Park Bo Gum. While BLACKPINK as a group still operates under YG, all four members: Jennie, Rosé, Lisa, and Jisoo ended their contract with the label last year.

Blackpink's Rosé to join THE BLACK LABEL?

K-media outlet NEWSEN reported that Rosé is considering signing a contract with THE BLACK LABEL for her solo activities. While the singer has not shared any details, the agency briefly commented that they are currently discussing the exclusive contract with Rosé.

Teddy, who heads the label, has been well-versed in BLACKPINK’s activities, producing the majority of their song. Previously, Rosé has mentioned how he was essentially BLACKPINK’s fifth member. However, YG Entertainment later clarified its stance on the matter.

If reports turn out to be true, Rosé would be the first BLACKPINK member to sign with a label as the rest of the members have established their own agencies for their individual activities. Jennie launched ODD ATELIER, Lisa established LLOUD, and Jisoo is the CEO of BLISSOO.

About Rosé's individual activities

Rosé embarked on her solo career in March 2021 with her debut single album titled R. Back then, the album sold nearly 450,000 copies in its first week, setting a record for a female K-pop artist. Her singles 'On The Ground' and 'Gone' are immensely popular.
