Tom Holland's X account hacked, cryptic post promoting cryptocurrency surfaces online

Tom Holland, best known for his portrayal of the latest Spider-Man, recently became a victim of cybercrime. Holland's fans witnessed an unusual activity on his X account earlier today when the actor seemingly dropped a cryptic post, hinting at a potential collaboration with cryptocurrency platform Binance. The post encouraged followers to sign up for early access to a new digital currency named the Spider Coin, reportedly associated with the Spiderverse. With Tom's association with the Spider-Man universe, many thought he was vouching for Spider Coin; however, fans eventually found out his account was hacked.

On Tuesday, April 16 (US time), the beloved British actor seemingly posted a cryptic tweet announcing his “partnership with @Binance in the launch of Spiderverse." The tweet featured a Spider-Verse-themed link,' spider verse'. app,’ as Holland allegedly pushed his fans to “register to get early access to $SPIDER coin and Spiderverse NFTs.” Holland's account bio was also altered to display a link related to the alleged partnership. The post has now been deleted.

Known for maintaining a private front, the Marvel actor's post had the internet going bonkers. Despite initial speculations, users felt it unlikely that Holland would promote cryptocurrency, leading to speculations that his account was hacked. However, the actor has yet to react to the event.

On the film front, Tom Holland will return to make his stage debut, Romeo and Juliet. The actor will play the role of Romeo in the production, which will run between May to August 2024in London. Francesca Amewudah-Rivers, of 'Bad Education', will feature as Juliet in the play. Tom Holland will also return as Peter Parker in 'Spider-Man 4'.
