Madonna addresses Israel-Palestine conflict: 'How can human beings be so cruel to one another?'

Pop icon Madonna addressed the devastating Israel-Palestine conflict during her Celebration Tour at London's O2 arena.

In an emotional speech, Madonna expressed deep concern for the innocent lives affected.

‘What's happening right now between Israel and Palestine is heartbreaking. I turn on social media and I want to vomit. I see children being kidnapped, pulled off motorcycles; babies being decapitated, children at peace raves being shot and killed. How can human beings be so cruel to one another? It frightens me,’ she said.

Drawing inspiration from renowned writer James Baldwin, Madonna emphasized that children of the world belong to everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs.

‘We are all candles; we can bring light to the world. If we turn enough light on, the collective consciousness of generosity and unity will change. No politicians, no laws, no sanctions, no land given or taken. We, with our consciousness, can change the world,’ Madonna said.

She further emphasized the power of individual actions, urging everyone to contribute to the collective effort in bringing about positive change.

Madonna's speech resonated with the audience, who responded with overwhelming support.

Madonna resume tour

Madonna resumed her Celebration Tour on October 14 after battling a life-threatening bacterial infection.

As per CNN, the singer addressed her health scare during the London show and said, ‘I didn't think I was going to make it, neither did my doctors. That's why I woke up with all of my children sitting around me.’

‘If you want to know my secret, and you want to know how I pulled through and how I survived, I thought, 'I've got to be there for my children. I have to survive for them,'’ she added.

Madonna had shared a clip from the opening night on X which garnered over 1.7 million views. She captioned the post, ‘Thank you LONDON! Opening Night! An Evening I will never forget.’
