Emmy Awards pushed to January 2024 as Hollywood actors and writers strike continues

The 75th Emmy Awards have been pushed to January 15, 2024, the Television Academy and broadcast network Fox announced on August 10.

The Emmys which were scheduled to take place on September 18, 2023, have been delayed due to ongoing Hollywood actors and writers strike.

This is the first time since 1960 that writers' and actors' union has gone on strike together, halting production of TV shows and films and impacting businesses in the entertainment world.

The Emmys will broadcast live on Fox on January 15, 2024, from the Peacock Theater at LA Live.

HBO is the leading nominee heading into the ceremony, with three of its series — Succession, The Last of Us and The White Lotus — racking up 74 nominations. In all, HBO received 127 nominations.

No host has been announced for the ceremony, which will celebrate the Emmys’ diamond anniversary.

The Emmys will be executive produced by Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay of Jesse Collins Entertainment.

This is the first time the Emmys have been postponed since 2001, when the 9/11 terrorist attacks pushed the ceremony, normally held in September, to November.
