Elon Musk shares ‘The Simpsons’ ‘predicted’ his takeover of Twitter in 2015

Elon Musk, the new Twitter owner, shared that the popular sitcom ‘The Simpsons’ had predicted that he would take over the social media network back in 2015. He shared a still from episode 12 of the 26th season which was titled ‘The Musk Who Fell to Earth’. It featured a cameo by him and showed him helping the show’s protagonist Homer Simpson revolutionise the nuclear power plant in Springfield. It also hinted at Musk ‘changing a birdhouse’. For those unaware, Twitter is often attributed to as a bird app due to its name and logo.

Elon shared a picture in which Lisa Simpson is seen feeding bird seeds to a few birds around a birdhouse, which has the words ‘Home tweet home’ written on it.

‘Simpson’s predicts I buy Twitter S26E12,’ Elon wrote.

This subtle mention of Twitter has convinced many fans that the show actually inspired Elon to buy the social media platform.

Several others pointed out ‘The Simpsons’ tendency to predict real-life incidents years before they happen.

For the unversed, the show predicted events like Donald Trump’s presidency, Walt Disney and Fox’s merger, Lady Gaga’s Superbowl performance, and even the premiere of ‘Matrix 4’.

‘The Simpsons’ has been running since 1989. It is the longest-running sitcom in history.
