Kanye West back on Twitter; Elon Musk says he wasn't informed

Rapper Kanye West's Twitter account, which was suspended over anti-Semitic posts, is back on the micro-blogging platform a day after Elon Musk took over the company. However, the Twitter owner claims that he had no hand in restoring the account of the rapper. The account is now named Ye.

He said that the account was restored before the completion of the social media platform's $44 billion takeover late on Thursday. Musk tweeted, ‘They did not consult with or inform me.’

Kanye, also known as Ye, has 30 million followers on Twitter. He courted controversy recently over his anti-semitic remarks on social media after which his account was locked. The rapper also publicly ended some major corporate tie-ups and vented his outbursts against some celebrities on social media.

Musk took over Twitter on Thursday, firing top executives.

On Firday, Musk told that Twitter will be forming a a content moderation council which will have ‘widely diverse viewpoints.’

He further added, ‘No major content decisions or account reinstatements will happen before that council convenes.'
