Yami Gautam opens up about battling keratosis pilaris, says 'It took me years to accept'

Yami Gautam, who has been a poster girl for radiant skin for over a decade, shared a post on Instagram in which she confessed, she was suffering from keratosis pilaris in October, a condition where small bumps appear on the skin.

Recently, Yami told a news portal that she felt liberated after writing the post. The actress went on to say, that the path from learning of her skin condition to putting the post out was difficult.

Yami said, people would comment on how it should be airbrushed or concealed when they saw her during shoots, and that would affect her a lot. She added, it took her years to accept it and wear her confidence. The actor's social media fans commended her for being open and brave about her problems.

In her post, Yami shared unedited pictures from a photoshoot and wrote, 'I've dealt with it for many years now and today finally, I decided to let go of all my fears and insecurities and found the courage to love and accept my ‘flaws’ wholeheartedly. I also found the courage to share my truth with you. Phew! I didn't feel like airbrushing my folliculitis or smoothing that ‘under-eye’ or ‘shaping up’ that waist a tiny bit more! And yet, I feel beautiful.'

On the personal front, Yami married director Aditya Dhar in a private ceremony in Himachal Pradesh with her family and close friends earlier this year. She was last seen in the film 'Bhoot Police,' starring Arjun Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Jacqueline Fernandez.
