Raksha Bandhan special: Five best on-screen Bollywood siblings

Here is a look at some iconic on-screen Bollywood siblings.

As Raksha Bandhan is around the corner, a look back at five of our most favourite on-screen siblings who have won our hearts.

Ranveer Singh – Priyanka Chopra (Dil Dhadakne Do)

‘Dil Dhadakane Do’ is one of the feel-good films, starring Ranveer and Priyanka as Kabir and Ayesha. Their characters were delightful, fun, and relatable. They understood each other really well and supported each other in hard times.

Shahrukh Khan - Aishwarya Rai (Josh)

Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s sibling chemistry was the highlight of the film. ‘Josh’, directed by Mansoor Khan, narrated the story of two rival gangs of Goa - one that was led by Shah Rukh Khan and another by Sharad Kapoor. It showed how Max (SRK), who lives with his twin sister Shirley (Aishwarya), is enraged when he finds out that she has fallen in love with his rival’s younger brother.

Genelia D’Souza – Prateik Babbar (Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na)

Genelia and Prateik redefined Tom and Jerry in ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’. From pouncing on each other to having heart-to-heart conversations, the duo did all the things that siblings do. It was easy to relate to Prateik as a guarded brother who finds a confidant in his sister. This film marked his debut in the industry.

Arbaaz Khan – Kajol (Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya)

Arbaaz Khan played the overly protective brother to Kajol in ‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’. His character Vishal was loved the audience as it was a raw representation of every elder brother being protective towards their sister.

‘Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya’ starred Arbaaz’s real life brother Salman Khan as Suraj, Muskaan’s (Kajol) love interest. In the film, she manages to persuade her brother with great difficulty to accept her alliance with Suraj.

Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Mohnish Bahl and Neelam (Hum Saath Saath Hai)

‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ featured Salman Khan, Mohnish Bahl, Saif Ali Khan and Neelam Kothari as siblings. The Sooraj Barjatya directorial was a perfect mix of drama, emotions, and fun. It showed how siblings supported each other even in difficult times.
