Confirmed: Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra & Kareena Kapoor starrer 'Aitraaz' to get sequel

Subhash Ghai has reportedly confirmed ‘Aitraaz 2’, the sequel of romantic thrilller starring Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The exciting update comes as ‘Aitraaz’ completed 20 years.

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai has confirmed to Hindustan Times that ‘Aitraaz 2’ is in the works. The sequel is being written by ‘OMG 2’ director Amit Rai and Ghai is reportedly in talks with different studios to produce the film. Sharing the update, Ghai told Hindustan Times that Amit has a big hit script with him at the moment and he really loved it.

While the filmmaker did not reveal much about the subject or plot of the sequel, Ghai said that Amit Rai has written another bold issue. He further hinted that the film will be more than just a social drama. The cast is yet to be finalised for the exciting project and Ghai promises that the sequel will be better than ‘Aitraaz’.

The 2004 film, directed by Abbas-Mastan, captivated the audience with its bold subject. The film dealt with the issue of workplace sexual harassment. ‘Aitraaz’ is also remembered as a film that gave a big boost to Priyanka Chopra’s career despite playing a negative character.
