Actors Sara Ali Khan and Esha Gupta will be making their Cannes debut this year. They will reportedly be seen being a part of the delegate assembled by Union Minister of State, Dr L. Murugan. Sara was spotted leaving for France last night.

Esha Gupta took to social media and shared a video in which she is heard saying, ‘I am delighted to be here at Cannes Film Festival 2023 as a part of Indian government delegation. I just want to take this moment to express my gratitude towards the Indian government and FICCI for providing me this opportunity on a global stage. India is now on a global stage in the world of cinema and it is an honour to be representing my country to showcase the world its unique voice and perspective in the world of cinema. Walking the red carpet at Cannes is nothing but a dream come true.’

The 76th Cannes Festival will be organised from May 16 to May 27. This year, Spain serves as the official Country of Honour at the Marche’ Du Film, which is organised alongside the Cannes Film Festival in France.

According to information released by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Kanu Behl’s ‘Agra’ will be showcased at the Directors’ Fortnight section, Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Kennedy’ will be screened in Midnight Screenings, and ‘Nehemich’ in the La Cinef section of the Festival de Cannes. In addition, a restored Manipuri film, ‘Ishanhou’, will be showcased in the Classics section.
