Bhuvan Bam apologises after NCW asks police to register FIR against him

The famous YouTuber Bhuvan Bam has apologised on Twitter after being criticised online for making a derogatory remark about 'pahadi' women in one of his recent videos. His apology came after the official Twitter handle of the National Commission for Women (NCW) tweeted about the matter and asked Delhi police to file an FIR against him for the video.

The tweet by NCW read, '@NCWIndia has taken cognisance. Chairperson @sharmarekha has written to @CPDelhi to register FIR & to take strict action in the matter. NCW has also written to Secy, Ministry of Electronics & IT to take appropriate action against the YouTube channel for violating dignity of women.'

Bhuvan responded to the tweet on Thursday, March 31, by saying that he had edited the video and deleted the particular part that had enraged netizens. He said that he was aware that a section in his video had hurt some people. He immediately edited the said section in the video. He added that, people who knew will vouch for the fact that he has utmost respect for women and that he had no intention to hurt anyone. A heartfelt apology to everyone whose sentiments have been disregarded.

The four-second section in which 'pahadi' women had been mentioned, has now been deleted from the video.

With his channel 'BB ki Vines,' Bhuvan Bam catapulted to global recognition as a YouTube content creator. Besides that, he had also appeared in web series 'TVF Bachelors', 'Titu Talks', and 'Dhindora'.
