Amitabh Bachchan's birthday: Abhishek Bachchan, Ananya Panday, Ajay Devgn & others wish the legend

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is celebrating his 80th birthday today, and social media is flooded with best wishes for the actor. Big B, who is currently hosting the 14th season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, will be joined by his wife Jaya Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan in tonight’s special episode.

Abhishek shared the promo of the episode on social media and revealed that 'it took a lot of secrecy, a lot of planning, a lot of hard-work and a lot of rehearsals to get it right. But then again, he deserves no less!' He also mentioned that it was very emotional to be able to surprise his dad and celebrate his 80th birthday at the place he loves the most, his workplace.

Actor Ajay Devgn also wished Big B on social media. Sharing a short clip with the legendary actor, he wrote, ‘Happy 80th birthday Amitabh Bachchan! Wishing you a splendid year ahead sir. You are actually way ahead of all of us and we’re just striving to live up to the best - YOU.’ The duo was last seen together in the film ‘Runway 34’.

Akshay Kumar wished his ‘inspiration’ on his 80th birthday with throwback picture and stated that Mr Bachchan is the one single reason behind an entire generation wanting to be a hero in films.

Ananya Panday attended the four-day film festival ‘Bachchan Back to the Beginning’ along with her dad on October 10. Sharing the video from the cinema hall, she wrote, ‘@amitabhbachchan sir HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEGEND. I got to watch ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ in theatres in 2022 with my Papa who had seen it 20 times in theatres when it released in 1977. We got to experience the film with the best @azmishabana18 ji watching the film with us.’

Filmmaker Karan Johar shared many throwback pics of Big B and wrote, ‘AMITABH BACHCHAN is not just an institution, a Legend, a Masterclass in acting… he is a feeling! A feeling that takes us back to the first time we whistled and clapped on a superstar entry, applauded a punchline, danced in the isles of a cinema.’ Meanwhile, Amitabh also received heartfelt messages on his birthday from film directors Shubash Ghai and Farah Khan along with actors Anupam Kher, Rajinikanth and Prabhas.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and wrote, ‘A very happy 80th birthday to Amitabh Bachchan Ji. He is one of India’s most remarkable film personalities who has enthralled and entertained audiences across generations. May he lead a long and healthy life. @SrBachchan.’

Sanjay Dutt was also among others to wish his ‘mentor’ Amitabh Bachchan on social media.
