Swara Bhasker, who announced that she has found her life partner in Samajwadi Party leader Fahad Ahmad, has said she may be quite frugal for her wedding celebrations in March, which she is yet to plan. On Thursday, the actor surprised everyone as she shared a video narrating her love story.
Taking to Twitter, she shared her column on celebrity weddings in a news portal and wrote, &lsquo;Confessions of a to-be-bride /new bride! We still have a full set of wedding celebrations to plan&hellip; can&rsquo;t decide how frugal I&rsquo;m gonna be&rsquo;.
In the column for The Week, Swara talked about the extravagant royal weddings like that of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani.
&lsquo;I have spent many hours searching destination wedding locations that I know well I can ill-afford; thinking &lsquo;just in case I sign a Hollywood film worth millions of dollars!&rsquo; I have been stalking couture collections of various designers for some years now, picking out outfits for my fictional wedding. I may even have spent an extra week or two dating some people, who were evidently not the right person for me (nor I for them); but the Instagram couple pictures would look so good; or they would afford the dream destination wedding!,&rsquo; she wrote.
She ended the column saying, &ldquo;I decided to do a simple calculation of what this fantasy, Instagram-worthy wedding would cost me. Swara met Fahad Zirar Ahmad during CAA-NRC protest, they clicked their first selfie at a protest, a cat brought them together. They tied the knot in a court wedding, for which they had submitted papers last month.

IFFI jury head and Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid&rsquo;s remark on &lsquo;The Kashmir Files&rsquo; has sparked a controversy with many slamming him for calling the movie a &lsquo;vulgar propaganda&rsquo;. However, actor Swara Bhaskar and Prakash Raj have lent their voice in support of Nadav.
Swara took to Twitter and shared a link of a news article headlined &lsquo;Kashmir Files&rsquo; a &lsquo;vulgar propaganda movie&rsquo;, unfit for event like IFFI: Jury chairman Nadav Lapid', and wrote that 'Apparently it&rsquo;s pretty clear to the world &hellip;'.
Actor Prakash Raj also shared an article headlined &lsquo;International Film Festival of India jury head calls 'The Kashmir Files' &lsquo;vulgar, propaganda&rsquo; and wrote 'SHAME is Official now&hellip;#justasking'.
At the closing ceremony of the film festival in Goa on Monday, Nadav said &lsquo;I would like to thank the head of the festival and the director of the programming for the cinematic richness of the programme, for its diversity, for its complexity. It was intense. We saw seven films in the debutant competition, and 15 films in the international competition, the front window of the festival. 14 out of them had cinematic qualities, defaults and evoked vivid discussions.&rsquo;
&lsquo;All of us were disturbed and shocked by the 15th film, The Kashmir Files. That felt like a propaganda, vulgar movie, inappropriate for an artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival. (with smiling emoji wearing sunglasses).&nbsp; In the video, Swara can be seen wearing a pink and yellow saree with a stylish blouse. In an exclusive interview with NDTV, the actor said, ‘A lot of negative hysteria has been generated around Bollywood and a lot of it is lies. I like to say that the ‘bring down Bollywood’ brigade is actually running a small industry of their own. They are profiting from it. All these Twitter handles. It’s like an industry on its own.’
When asked if these Boycott Bollywood trends have political motives just to put down the three Khans – Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, Swara responded,  ‘It is driven by an agenda for sure. The larger part of it has been that in 109 years, Bollywood has been one of the most popular vehicles of Indian secularism. Look at the kind of films we have made, we have always given the message that everyone is equal, love is greater than societal divide. Look at the credit at the end of the Bollywood film, every regional and linguistic identity of India is always represented there. It’s an industry which was spearheaded in its early days the Parsi and Muslim communities, it’s an industry which has popularised Urdu poetry and easy to digest Sufi concepts and is very diverse in an organic way. That is a problem for an agenda that wants to push a saffron kind of majoritarian identity in India. So, you have to discredit and delegitimise the most popular vehicle for Indian secularism if you want to discredit Indian secularism. That’s why Bollywood is being targeted.’ Over the last few months, many films faced boycott calls on social media and met a tragic fate at the box office.
