Covid-19 has once again taken the sporting world by storm and India's domestic cricket season is also not spared. BCCI on Tuesday postponed the&nbsp;Ranji Trophy, Col C K Nayudu Trophy &amp; Senior Women&rsquo;s T20 League for the 2021-22 season in the wake of the rising Covid-19 cases in the country.
The Ranji Trophy and Col C K Nayudu Trophy were scheduled to begin this month. The board in a statement said that&nbsp;it does not want to compromise the safety of the players, support staff, match officials and other participants involved and hence, decided to put the three tournaments on hold till further notice. The BCCI will continue to assess the situation and take a call on the start of the tournaments accordingly.
Recently,&nbsp;7 members of Bengal's&nbsp;Ranji&nbsp;Trophy squad had tested positive for the deadly virus.

The BCCI&nbsp;on Monday held its Apex Council meeting on Monday via video conference and announced a hike in match fee for domestic cricketers.&nbsp;
The per day fee for the top Ranji cricketers, who have played more than 40 matches, was almost doubled to&nbsp;₹60,000.&nbsp;Those who have played 21 to 40 matches will be paid&nbsp;₹50,000, while players with experience less than that will be entitled to a remuneration of&nbsp;₹40,000 per day. The move will likely benefit more than 2,000 male cricketers from the under-16 to the senior level.
The BCCI also stated that those who played domestic cricket two years ago will be compensated for the 2020-&rsquo;21 season lost due to the Covid-19 pandemic.&nbsp;Ranji Trophy was not held last year&nbsp;which caused financial troubles for many Indian cricketers.
