'T20 leagues popping up faster than weeds in summer': Ian Chappell

Amid new T20 leagues coming up, former Australian captain Ian Chappell stated that international cricket is heading for an epic breakdown.

In his column for ESPNcricinfo, Chappell wrote that the whole cricket structure, especially the schedule, is in need of a thorough but positive inquisition with the game's future in view.

He also expressed that there is also a lack of partnership between players and administrators which is visible as future schedules are decided without any input from international players.

Notably, many international players had opted out of their central contracts to play in domestic T20 leagues across the globe. While the emergence of South Africa's T20 league and UAE's ILT20 give plenty of options for cricketers with better remunerations.
