Vijay Hazare Trophy: N Jagadeesan's 277 shatters world record in List A cricket

With his power-packed innings of 277 runs, Tamil Nadu batter N Jagadeesan shattered the world record for the highest-ever individual score in List A cricket on Monday.

Jagadeesan broke the record of Ali Brown's previous high of 268 for Surrey against Glamorgan in 2002.

During his 141-ball innings in Vijay Hazare Trophy, the 26-year-old Tamil Nadu batter even broke the Indian record for the highest list 'A' score of 264 runs by Rohit Sharma in ODIs.

Jagadeesan along with his opening partner B Sai Sudharsan sent the Arunachal bowlers on a leather hunt and forged a record-breaking 416-run stand, which helped Tamil Nadu put 506 runs on board. This is also the highest score by a team in List A cricket.

Previously, England held the record for the highest-ever team score of 498-4 against the Netherlands.
