The highly anticipated Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2023 was filled with an array of exciting announcements and noteworthy features across Apple's operating systems. Here's a glimpse into the major highlights from the event:

Apple Vision Pro

Stealing the spotlight at WWDC 2023 was the groundbreaking Apple Vision Pro augmented reality headset. Boasting a mesmerising 4K display, spatial audio, gesture control, and seamless voice input, the Vision Pro by Apple promises an extraordinary augmented reality (AR) experience. This cutting-edge headset runs on Vision OS, Apple's exclusive operating system. While the US pricing for the Vision Pro is set at $3,499, details regarding availability and pricing in India are yet to be disclosed.

MacBook Air 15-inch

In addition to unveiling their groundbreaking headset, Apple's WWDC 2023 also introduced a new member to their hardware family: the 15-inch MacBook Air. This laptop is equipped with the powerful Apple M2 chip and features a stunning 15" Liquid Retina display. What sets it apart is its remarkably slim profile, measuring just 11.5mm thin. Starting at a price of ₹1,34,900, the MacBook Air 15-inch is set to be released in India on June 13, 2023.

M2 Ultra

Accompanying the MacBook Air 15-inch is the powerful M2 Ultra chip. The M2 Ultra features two M2 Max chips, a 24-core CPU, and a 32-core Neural Engine. With up to an astonishing 76-core GPU and support for 192GB memory, the M2 Ultra sets new benchmarks for power and efficiency.

iOS 17

Apple introduced significant updates to its mobile operating system, iOS 17, during WWDC 2023. The Phone app received a refreshing redesign, enhancing functionality and user interface. The Messages app introduced new features that make conversations more engaging and dynamic.

NameDrop allows convenient mentions and tagging of contacts, while SharePlay for AirDrop enables seamless media sharing.

iPadOS 17

Recognising the iPad's growing significance as a productivity tool, Apple introduced iPadOS 17 to enhance the overall iPad experience. Interactive widgets provide a personalised touch to the home screen, while the Personalised Lock Screen offers a unique and customisable experience. The introduction of the Health app on iPad empowers users to effortlessly track their fitness and well-being. Additionally, working with PDFs on iPad becomes even more seamless and intuitive.

macOS Sonoma

macOS Sonoma introduces a bunch of exciting features to Mac users. New widgets and screensavers allow for personalised desktop experiences, and game developers can look forward to improvements designed to enhance gaming on macOS. Notably, the highly anticipated Death Stranding Director's Cut is coming soon to Mac. Video conferencing experiences receive significant enhancements, making virtual meetings and collaborations even more seamless. Furthermore, Safari now supports web apps, providing users with a rich and interactive browsing experience.

tvOS 17

Apple's tvOS 17 brings exciting updates to the TV experience. With FaceTime support, Center Stage for perfectly framed video calls, new widgets, and SharePlay for synchronised content viewing, tvOS 17 enhances connectivity and customisation, making your TV time even more immersive and enjoyable.

watchOS 10

Apple's smartwatch, the Apple Watch, receives notable updates with watchOS 10. The Smart Stack of widgets intelligently curates relevant information based on usage patterns, offering users a personalised and dynamic experience. Two new watch faces further expand customisation options to suit individual styles. New cycling features and expanded Workout APIs cater to fitness enthusiasts, while the addition of a dedicated Mindfulness app promotes overall well-being and relaxation.
