What is Telegram Premium? Here's everything you need to know

Telegram Premium has arrived globally and it gives additional features to the Telegram users at a price of Rs 469 a month.

What is Telegram Premium? Here's everything you need to know

Telegram Premium is now rolling out to users globally as a paid service of the popular instant messaging platform. It grants users access to additional features for Rs 469 or $4.99 per month.

Premium comes with a host of new features, many of which are likely to appeal to the most active of Telegram's 700 million users. The new tier does not place the basic functionality behind a paywall either.

Premium subscribers will have double the restrictions of normal users. For example, free users can subscribe to up to 500 channels, while premium users can go up to 1,000. Users will also get faster downloads and a larger maximum file upload size of 4GB.

Similarly, members may create 20 chat folders with 200 talks each, save up to 10 stickers, pin up to 10 messages, and add a total of four accounts instead of three. Additionally, premium customers have access to extended biographies with a link.

Another useful premium feature is that it removes sponsored messages from public channels.

Telegram’s CEO has also announced that free features will stay free and that new features will have no effect on the Telegram experience for non-subscribers.

This implies that free Telegram users should be able to download bigger files submitted by subscribers and observe any paid responses or emojis they employ.

CEO Durov also stated that Telegram will continue to build services for free users, which the platform looks to be doing so far. The most recent Telegram version displays verified badges in conversations, enables join requests for public groups, and adds a few platform-specific enhancements.
