Sony launches Xperia Pro-I with variable aperture camera: check price, specs

Sony has launched the Xperia Pro-I smartphone, with a focus on the camera. The smartphone features a 12MP main camera with a 1-inch sensor, which is the same as Sony’s RX100 VII compact camera.

The Xperia Pro-I produces 12MP images with a 2.4µm pixel size. It also uses a Zeiss-coated 24mm lens with a variable aperture from f/2.0 to f/4.0.

There is also a 16mm f/2.2 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 50mm f/2.4 12MP telephoto camera. The main camera supports Sony’s Real-time Eye autofocus, which can lock focus to a subject with 315 phase-detection AF points.

The Xperia Pro-I also features a physical two-stage shutter button, along with a circular shortcut key which goes to the Pro Videography app. The smartphone can also shoot 4K video at up to 120fps.

Sony Xperia Pro-I Features

The Xperia Pro-I is powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset, and features a 6.5-inch 4K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, expandable through a microSD card slot. Sony has packed in a 4,500mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.

Sony Xperia Pro-I Price

In the US, the Sony Xperia Pro-I is priced at around ₹1.35 lakhs. No plans for an India launch or pricing were announced.
