OnePlus Nord 3 to come with flagship-grade 50MP camera sensor

The 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor to be used on the Nord 3 is the same one that’s also found on the flagship OnePlus 11 5G smartphone.

OnePlus Nord 3 to come with flagship-grade 50MP camera sensor

OnePlus is set to launch three new mid-range devices, namely Nord 3, Nord CE 3, and Nord Buds 2r, in India on July 5.

Building up the anticipation, OnePlus has now revealed the camera details for the Nord 3, promising flagship-level capabilities despite its mid-range positioning.

OnePlus Nord 3 camera

The OnePlus Nord 3 will feature a powerful 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), the same camera found in the flagship OnePlus 11 smartphone.

While the presence of Hasselblad branding remains undisclosed, OnePlus assures users that its proprietary photography algorithms, also present in the OnePlus 11, will enhance the camera performance.

The remaining sensors in the triple camera setup, as well as the specifications of the punch-hole selfie camera, are yet to be revealed.

OnePlus Nord 3 specifications

In terms of design, the Nord 3 follows the footsteps of its predecessor, the Nord 2 series, sporting flat edges and a circular camera module.

The device will be available in two color options, namely 'Tempest Gray' and 'Misty Green.' The flat display of the Nord 3 features no plastic frame and retains the signature alert slider, with the volume rocker and power button positioned on the left side.

Expected specifications for the OnePlus Nord 3 include a 6.74-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset.

The smartphone is likely to have an 8MP and 2MP secondary sensor alongside the 50MP primary sensor, while the front camera is expected to be 16MP.

Storage options may include up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, as previously confirmed by the brand.

A sizable 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging technology is anticipated, and the device is likely to debut with OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13.
