Motorola launched its latest smartphone, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion earlier today, aiming to “disrupt the sub 25K Indian smartphone market”. Here’s all the details you need on the features, specifications, pricing, availability, and launch offers for the new device.

The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion boasts several impressive features.

• Performance and Storage:

Powering the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The device's performance is enhanced by the 4nm chipset, which delivers an AnTuTu score of up to 630K. It supports up to 15 5G bands and WiFi 6, ensuring fast and reliable connectivity.

• Camera:

It is equipped with a 50MP camera utilizing Sony’s advanced LYTIA 700C sensor. This sensor, combined with all-pixel instant focus technology and optical image stabilization, promises high-quality images and 4K video recording capabilities. Additionally, the primary camera features 2.0µm Ultra Pixel technology for improved low-light performance and clearer images.

In addition to its main camera, the device features a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120° field of view, which also supports macro photography for close-up shots. The front camera is a 32MP selfie camera with Quad Pixel technology, which enhances low-light performance and supports 4K video recording.

The device features the segment’s only IP68 rated water repellent design, ensuring protection against dust and water. The Smart Water Touch technology allows seamless display operation even when the screen is wet. The smartphone also comes with a 144Hz 10-bit pOLED display that supports FHD+ resolution, peak brightness of 1600 nits, and Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 protection, making it one of the brightest and most durable displays in its segment.

The phone is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 68W fast charging, ensuring long-lasting performance and quick recharge times. According to Motorola, the charger can provide a day’s power in just 15 minutes of charging, and the battery can last up to 30 hours on a single charge.

• UI and Software:

The smartphone runs on Android 14 with Motorola’s Hello UI, offering a clean and intuitive user experience. Motorola promises three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates, ensuring the device remains up-to-date with the latest software enhancements.

• Design and Colour Options:

The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is available in three Pantone-curated colors: Marshmallow Blue with a vegan leather finish, Hot Pink with a vegan suede finish, and Forest Blue with a PMMA (acrylic glass) finish. The device is designed to be both stylish and comfortable to hold, with a weight of just 175g and a thickness of 7.9mm.

The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is priced at Rs. 22,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is available for Rs. 24,999. The effective price, including offers, can reduce to Rs. 20,999 for the 8GB variant and Rs. 22,999 for the 12GB variant.

The smartphone will be available for purchase starting from May 22, 2024, at 12 PM on Flipkart, Motorola’s official website (Motorola.in), and leading retail stores across India.

At launch, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion includes several offers to attract buyers. These include a Rs. 2000 instant discount on ICICI Bank credit cards and credit card EMI transactions. Alternatively, buyers can avail of a Rs. 2000 exchange bonus on Flipkart when exchanging any old phone.

Additionally, there are no-cost EMI options for up to nine months on ICICI Bank cards. For Reliance Jio customers, there are total benefits worth Rs. 10,000, including cashback and partner offers such as discounts on Swiggy, Ajio, EaseMyTrip, and AbhiBus.
