Oppo Reno 10 Pro Review: It appears that tech companies aren't really fond of the number 9. Windows skipped 9, as did the iPhone. So Oppo thought, why not skip 9 as well?

We're here with the Oppo Reno 10 Pro full review. While its unique numeral advancement might intrigue some, what sets it apart is its budget-friendly price, boasting a telephoto camera.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro specifications

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Design: Always the highlight of the Reno series, the design of this phone doesn't disappoint. The curved glass sandwich design gives it a sleek appearance. Despite the frame being plastic, it blends perfectly with the premium feel.

The glass sandwich design is curved from both the front and the back. The frame is plastic, but you won’t notice since it gels well with the overall premium feel. The front of this phone is protected by a Dragontrail Star 2 tempered glass, the rear panel has no protection.

The large and eye-catching camera island shows Oppo's emphasis on the Oppo Reno 10 Pro camera capabilities. The Samsung-inspired purple colour also adds a vibrant touch. At the front, you'll notice slim bezels that complement the curved display nicely.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Utility: The Oppo Reno 10 Pro specifications include a 5G dual SIM functionality. Although it lacks expandable storage, it comes standard with 256GB of internal storage.

The phone houses an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, which provided an average performance during testing. The phone also includes an IR Blaster.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Display: The 6.7-inch curved OLED display is really good in terms of vibrancy and viewing angles. It has a resolution of FHD+ and is Widevine L1 and HDR10+ certified.

It also has an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz, however, a lot of apps, including the most used ones like Chrome and Youtube, run at only 60 or 90Hz, which can be quite jarring.

The display has a max peak brightness of 950 nits, which is not the best in the segment, not adequate nonetheless.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Camera: The Oppo Reno 10 Pro camera setup includes 3 usable rear cameras, each providing unique photo and video capabilities. These include an optically stabilised 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.

Let’s start with the main sensor. It produces some pretty good photos, however, its colour science is rather unpredictable - some photos come out to be bright, while others are contrast rich.

In low light, this camera does not over brighten photos and tries to preserve the authentic ambience of the scene. It could be a love it or hate it feature depending on your preference.

1080p videos from the main camera are stable with impressive dynamic range, but 4K videos disappoint in terms of stabilisation.

The 32MP telephoto camera follows a familiar theme - you cannot quite predict if it will brighten photos or make them contrast rich. Oppo also needs to fix the big colour processing difference between the two sensors.

That being said, the edge detection in 2x portrait shots is pretty good. Anyway, the telephoto camera also allows for up to 20x digital zoom, which works fine given there is enough sunlight.

And that’s the thing, the telephoto lens needs ample natural light to work properly. Otherwise the phone is quick to switch to its main camera for a 2x digital crop.

The ultrawide camera, like other 8MP midrange ultrawide cameras, is decent enough for social media photos, but do not expect it to produce something amazing. However, the 32MP front camera produces impressive shots with good colours and dynamic range.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Performance and Software: Powered by a Snapdragon 778G chipset, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro processor may seem dated, but this phone is not targeting the power hungry user. The 778G is still a tried and tested chipset with a lot of apps well optimised for it. It can play call of duty at max frame rate with high graphic settings. However, do keep in mind that you get Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phones at this price.

On the software front, you get Color OS 13.1 built on top of Android 13. The overall performance of this software is quite snappy and it's well aided by 12GB of standard onboard RAM.

Sadly, everything that Color OS is infamous for, is still present on this phone. This includes bloatware, spammy notifications, hot apps and games folders, and more. You can disable most of these nuances, but they should not exist on a premium mid range phone in the first place.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Battery Life: The Oppo Reno 10 Pro battery life is impressive, with its 4600mAh capacity ensuring a full day's usage. You can count on spending anywhere from 6-7 hours in front of a screen each day. With the included adapter and 80W charging power, you can get a full charge in around half an hour, which is awesome.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Price in India

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro price is set at 39,999 rupees in India, but can be reduced further with various bank offers, enhancing its appeal.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Verdict

Although the Oppo Reno 10 Pro features may not be the most powerful in its segment, it appeals to those looking for an aesthetically pleasing smartphone with a versatile camera setup.
