<p>Researchers have uncovered a sophisticated new malware named <a href="https://cloudsek.com/blog/dogerat-the-android-malware-campaign-targeting-users-across-multiple-industries">DogeRAT</a>, which uses fake Android apps to steal sensitive information and compromise victims' device security.</p>
<p>The malware is distributed via social media and messaging platforms, disguised as a legitimate mobile application. DogeRAT malware is open-source Android malware which targets various industries such as banking, financial services and insurance, e-commerce, and entertainment.</p>
<p>Once installed, it gains unauthorised access and starts collecting sensitive information including contacts, messages, and banking credentials.</p>
<p>The malware can even take control of the infected device enabling malicious actions like sending spam messages, unauthorised payments and remotely capturing photos through the device&rsquo;s cameras.&nbsp;</p>
