      External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar briefed leaders of political parties on the situation in Afghanistan with respect to India.

      The Foreign Minister told leaders that India is at the moment adopting a "wait and watch" policy over the chaos in Afghanistan.

      In his opening remarks, Jaishankar said that the crisis in Afghanistan is "extremely critical" and that India is trying to rescue "as many as possible".

      He informed that 35 more people were brought back on Thursday.

      Further, Jaishankar asserted that the Taliban "has not kept its word given in Doha" while finalising on the peace treaty.

      Following his speech, all opposition parties unanimously congratulated the government on evacuation programme.
