India's 2024 T20 World Cup squad: No Virat Kohli in Sanjay Manjrekar's 15-man team

As the deadline to name the India squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup approaches, speculations are at a high, with every fan and every expert naming their own 15-man squad.

In a discussion with broadcaster Star Sports, as former players and experts alike named their squad, Sanjay Manjrekar's list had one of the biggest surprises.

Among seniors, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja made the cut but stalwart Virat Kohli was omitted by Manjrekar.

Another startling exclusion was all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who made way for his brother Krunal Pandya along with Ravindra Jadeja.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Suryakumar Yadav constituted the rest of the top-order.

Apart from Jadeja and the senior Pandya, no all-rounder was named by Manjrekar.

Inconclusive debates have taken over the Indian cricketing fraternity about India's choice for a keeper-batter but Manjrekar paid no heed.

In his team, 3 of the best options were included - Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson and KL Rahul.

A total of five pacers - Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd Siraj, Harshit Rana, Avesh Khan and Mayank Yadav made the cut.

In the spin department, apart from Jadeja and Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were picked by Manjrekar.

Sanjay Manjrekar's squad for T20 WC 2024: Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Avesh Khan, Harshit Rana, Mayank Yadav, Krunal Pandya
