After failing to go the distance at #T20WorldCup for the 2nd year in a row, BCCI will seek answers from Team India head coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma, and ex-captain Virat Kohli before deciding on the future of the T20 team. 

As per an Indian Express report, the BCCI will not make haste in taking decisions regarding the T20 side and will have a meeting first upon the return of Team India from Australia.

After another upset at the World Stage in a year's time, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is now set to hold a meeting with the Team India head coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma and ex-captain Virat Kohli.&nbsp; As per an Indian Express report, the BCCI will not make haste in taking a decision and will have a meeting first upon Team India's return from Australia. 'We will call a meeting and discuss a roadmap for our T20 team', an official told Indian Express. 'We don't want to take any decision in haste. Let team management and players present their point of view first; the board will decide how to go about it later', they added.&nbsp; After India failed to yield once again in the T20 World Cup, the clamour around <a href="https://www.editorji.com/sports-news/t20-world-cup/what-next-for-team-india-after-t20-world-cup-disappointment-1668170969587">revamping the ideology and invigorating the T20I team with youthful spirit</a> is growing stronger. However, a final stamp on the decision can only be taken after Indian team management presents its case post the embarrassment in the semifinal against England Down Under.&nbsp;

The 15-member squad had 9 players above the age of 30, out of which 4 of the senior-most players will be above 35 in the next edition of the T20 World Cup which will be played in 2024.

What next for Team India after T20 World Cup disappointment

While fingers were already being pointed out at Chetan Sharma’s selection committee before the 15-member squad travelled Down Under, the 10-wicket mauling in Adelaide will definitely force the BCCI to make some tough calls.

A forgettable outing at the world stage yet again might just act as the trigger for a change in team management at several levels. In the hindsight, for India, experience alone is not doing the magic in the ICC tournaments. And age, age can drive the BCCI up the wall for it has backfired yet again. Whether the board now opts for the flamboyance of youth, remains to be seen. But one thing is for sure, after another disappointing display, heads will roll! Apart from skipper Rohit Sharma(35), Dinesh Karthik(37) and R Ashwin (36) these names also include the revitalized Virat Kohli (34), who emerged as the backbone of Team India&rsquo;s campaign in the 2022 edition. Even as there are a few between ages 30-35, their failure to justify their position in the side may pave the way for Team India to look to the future.
From the leadership perspective as well, India clearly need to change gears. Rohit Sharma has been the most successful skipper in the Indian Premier League, the victorious run even translated in the bilateral series, but it got all phased out when it mattered the most. India were first embarrassed in Asia Cup, then at the T20 World Cup stage. Indian superstar Virat Kohli took to Twitter to express his disappointment on Team India's semi-final defeat against England.
India&rsquo;s best player in the tournament encapsulated the feelings of all Team India fans in his social media post on Friday. The 34-year-old tweeted about how hurtful the 10-wicket defeat was for him.
However, he also wrote that despite the team not being able to lift the title this time, Team India will be taking back plenty of positives from the tournament.
"We leave Australian shores short of achieving our dream and with disappointment in our hearts but we can take back a lot of memorable moments as a group and aim to get better from here on," Kohli tweeted.
"Thank you to all our fans who turned up in huge numbers throughout to support us in the stadiums. Always feel proud to wear this jersey and represent our country." Kohli wrote on Twitter.
Hardik Pandya also tweeted about how gutted he was after the defeat and thanked the fans for their support as well. "Devastated, gutted, hurt. Tough to take, for all of us. To my teammates, I&rsquo;ve enjoyed the bond that we built - we fought for each other every step of the way. Thank you to our support staff for their endless dedication and hard work for months on end." Pandya posted on the social media platform.
Kohli's 50 runs off 40 deliveries against England saw him become the top run-getter in the tournament. But despite his prowess, India were humiliated by the Three Lions in Adelaide.

"But I think it&rsquo;s right in the middle of our season and with the kind of demand there would be for Indian players if we allow all the Indians to play in these leagues, we would not have domestic cricket. Our domestic cricket and Ranji Trophy will be finished. That would mean Test cricket would be finished", Dravid said.
 &ldquo;I know a lot of people talk about it, but we have to be very careful and understand the challenges that the BCCI would face. A lot of our boys are asked to play bang in the middle of the season. We have seen what&rsquo;s that done to West Indies cricket and I would not want Indian cricket to go that way,&rdquo; he added.

BCCI doesn't allow the contracted Indian players to play in other T20 leagues in the world apart from the IPL. A player can only participate in foreign leagues when he retires.

With many games affected by rain and a few going down the drain in the T20 World Cup 2022, ICC is taking no chance with the final.
The organisers have further extended the playing time for the final between Pakistan and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, scheduled to begin at 7 PM local time on Sunday.
Though it was a sunny Sunday morning but the met department has predicted rain during the day. Despite there being a reserve day (November 14), efforts are being made to complete the match on Sunday.
Currently the match will begin at 7 PM local time and should end at 10:30 PM. However, an additional 1 hour 30 minutes have been added and it can now go on till midnight, if rain intervenes.&nbsp;
If the final does not get completed on Sunday, then it will be resumed at the point where the last ball was played on Monday.

Further, he said if the management does not want to remove Rahul Dravid as coach then he should be assisted by someone who has retired recently, 'If you do not want to remove Dravid as coach then help him with someone who has recently retired.
'Someone like Ashish Nehra who has got a great cricketing brain,' The 42-year-old also said Hardik Pandya was his first preference as the captain in the shortest format of the game.
